Dell Dimension 2400 machines with disk read errors - won't boot!

A clicking sound from the hard drive is the one sound you never want to hear. It means the drive has failed. If you need the data, you have no choice but to send it out for data recovery.
On the second one, I would suspect a hardware problem, but in this case I would try to run the program "spinrite." If the computer can't detect the disk, I would install this disk as a second disk in another system. See if the other system can read it. If it, too, cannot detect it, then you've got another bad disk.

There might be a problem in your Hard drive. If you have tried so, Try removing your hard drive and set it up again. If it still doesn't work. You may try using a recovery disk or the cd used to install the operating system. If still the error is appearing, try to reinstall the operating system. if still, I'm sorry you might need to replace your hard drive.

I can not fix recovery factory my pc

If you laptop was not supplied with a Windows CD then most likely the hard disk on your laptop has a recovery partition on the hard drive and you can restore your laptop back to the condition when you first purchased the laptop using this recovery partition.
Acer can also supply a recovery CD for your model Acer if you request one. This is needed when the hard disk has failed.
Read your laptop documentation for the instruction on the restore procedure. You also get this information from Acer's WEB site.

I have to tried to do a system restore on my emachine using the recovery disks and it still will not come up to windows?

So, did the re-install complete "normally", or were there some error-messages during the process?

Some of the components of your computer may be "failing":

* disk-drive (deposit $100 into your bank-account, but only $10 can be withdrawn)
* motherboard (leaking capacitors causing voltage-fluctuations)
* RAM (ever try reading what you wrote onto a greasy piece of paper?)
* fans (dead fans cause overheating)

causing "intermittent" problems.

Take your computer to a professional technician, unless you want to try changing the RAM or disk-drive or fans.

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
you could run the check disk utility

click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive

hope this helps

DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

your system either does not detect a bootable disk, or the HDD has failed. Disconnect any floppy disk, USB storage devices connected to the computer and make sure the HDD with an OS installed is the primary boot device. If you get the same error, remove and reconnect the hard drive. If all else fails, try repairing or reinstalling Windows. If nothing works, you may need to get a new HDD.
