A few weeks ago my astra 2001 started to splutter and the carbon emmissions orange light came on,it stayed on for abt a week then went off,then a few weeks later it happened again then went off so i put it down to a dodgy sensor,then last week it started to judder ( as if u were driving in to high a gear for a slow speed) then it cut out,and now it wont start,it will bump or with jump leads but thats it,av checked the battery but thats fine,it got plenty oil and water in.I dont no if its relevant but each time this has happened its been whilst driving up the same hill, please help?

You need to have this diagnosed with a full function scan tool to see what is going on in real time. A factory repair manual is also a must, hit and miss attempts and wasted money and time will not get the vehicle fixed. I would also suggest a new bicycle if this continues.

You need to have your car hooked to a scan tool, it will tell you what the computer thinks the problem is.

You appear to have soaked the abs system sensors in the wheels and shorted them out...A short can take a battery to zero in no time...Check out the car for shorts!

its possible u may have burnt out the pump it uses the fuel to cool the pump

That is so weird, because my 2004 Alero was doing the same thing a few weeks ago. I took it one morning to the auto place because I was really worried, but it didn't do it again while at the shop. It hasn't done it as badly as that one morning, but it occasionally idles a little high. Still haven't been able to figure out way.

My towncar is doing the same. It actually started about 6 months ago with the fuel light, which turned out to be no problem, just some air in the line. My air bags did go out last week, so it looks like I have a low rider right now:) I'm in the process of converting from air bags to springs. I had the back airbags replaced but then the dang compressor went out and I don't have the money to replace that. The check air suspension light will stay on right before you have to replace the airbags. Turn your car off then on and if it takes a little while for the light to come back on you have a few weeks to go before it goes out completely. Oh and it is a real easy fix. Its gonna cost about 200 bucks for each airbag, but if you convert it to spring it will cost about 150 in parts.

After market spark plugs could be the problem.
Reinstall the old plugs and see if that fixes it.
This vehicle has an ion sensing ignition system and is real sensitive to the proper spark plugs. I would get the proper plugs from the dealer if the old ones work.
The codes P1311 and P1312 are ion sensing codes.

I belive they didn't reset the oil light timer. I belive the sequence is 1. key on (not acc with engine off)
2. step on the brake pedal 5 times within 10 seconds. 3. key off. 4. start car. 5. check if the light went out. you may have to try it a few times to get it.

you need to have the pcm checked...it acts as the voltage regulator
