Purchase an inexpensive oven thermometer (the kind that hang from the rack are great but whatever is designed for oven).
Then set your oven on 350 and wait for oven light to go out (indicating it is at temperature). Compare the temperature on the thermometer (it should say 350 but sounds like your results will be less).
If it is not the same temperature you have SOME adjustment that can be made. Most oven temperature control switches have the ability to adjust/calibrate. Depending on make and model you may be able to pull the temperature adjustment knob off and see a screw and a slot. Loosen the set screw and turn the post slightly then re-seat the screw.
Repeat the test on step 3 again and see if you are closer.
If it got worse, loosen screw and turn the other way (and re-test).
If it got better but not quite right, repeat the procedure.
If you are unable to adjust to get the temperature correct you may have a faulty temperature sensor.
I understand that your Frigidaire oven will not heat to temperature if you set it to 350 degrees. I see that you have to set it to 450 degrees for it to heat up, and then turn it back down to the desired temperature. Please try resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power, set the clock and try setting the temperature to 350 degrees. Typically an oven beeps when the interior temperature macthes the temperature where you set the dial. This is an audible signal to that fact and particularly helpful when you need to pre-heat the oven. For example it you want to cook something at 350 degrees, you set the dial at 350. When your oven reaches that temperature it beeps to let you know. Some cooking directions tell you to preheat your oven. In that case, when you set the dial to 350 and wait for the beep...you know you are safe to start your cooking process because the oven is now pre-heated to the temperature you set. If your recipe requires a pre-heated oven, and you don't wait for the beep, your taking a guess at what temperature you're cooking your food. Additionally, if you want to know what the internal temperature of oven is and your oven is heated...you simply turn you dial setting and listen for the beep. Again, if you set your oven at 350 and you want to know how hot your oven is... slowly turn the dial setting. If the oven beeps at 275 then that's how hot your oven has gotten. To let it finish heating to 350 just reset the dial and wait for the beep.
I GOT THE SAME QUESTION .. IT IS A GAS OVEN . WHEN THERMOSTAT IS SET TO GAS MARK 4 WHICH IS EQUIVALENT TO 350 DEGREES , AFTER 10 MINUTES, IT REACHES ITS DESIRED TEMP. BUT IF I DON'T ADJUST THE FLAME, THE TEMP WILL RISE HIGHER AND HOTTER THAT I NEED TO OPEN THE OVEN DOOR TO DECREASE THE TEMPERATURE INSIDE. ANYONE KNOWS IF THAT IS NORMAL? THANKS
If you are monitoring the oven temperature with an analog style thermometer you may actually be ok, but seeing the thermometers slow reaction time.
Some newer ovens actually do pre-heat beep prior to reaching temp in an effort to conserve eelectricity.
A good home test is to try your oven at several different temps to see if there is any variation in internal temperature. Try it one day on 300, the next at 375 and another day at 450. Give your analog style thermometer time to catch up (usually just about 15 min) and leave it on for a half an hour to see if the temp maintains.
Also Beware of aluminum foil AND THE NEW OVEN LINER MATS as they can alter oven performance bay absorbing and blocking the ovens natural heat radiation and convection air flow currents that happen in all ovens, not just convection models.
Another interesting fact is that older ovens used a thermostat in them that operated much like your thermometer and was very slow to react making the oven typically about 100 degrees hotter than where the customer set it. This was just a fact of life before the advent of electronic temperature management and became noticeable when people began trying to bake older "hand me down" recipes in the newer ovens with less than stellar results.
You can mimic the older oven performance by preheating the oven about a hundred degrees higher than called for and after it reaches temp, re-set it to the correct temperature and put the items in right away.
If you find your temperatures fluctuating ask your servicer to replace first the temp sensor and as a last resort the control board as this part is usually pretty expensive.

Are you checking with a store bought thermometer or your recipe. If it is your recipe then ur thermostat might need a calibration or need to be changed completely if it is really off by more than 100 degrees. If it is 99 or less a simple calibration may just do it. If you have a steady hand. With your thermometer inside the oven and the door closed set at 350. Then take the oven knob off and take a small flat screw driver (really small). And insert it in the valve part where the knob was. With a flash light u can see the small screw. Turn it a hair at a time (1-2mm). Wait 20 minutes and see if the temp does rise. If not turn another hair. Repeat until 350 is reached. You must wait the 20-30 minutes for it to reach the temp. If all else fails changing the thermostat would be next. I do not recommend u do this alone. approx cost is: $400 - 500 front access, 500 - 600 rear access Good luck.
