  1. Check and fill all the tire to the proper PSI (usually 35 PSI)
  2. Now open the drivers door.
  3. On the side of the dash is a little access panel that pulls right off.
  4. Now you will see a little red button to reset the low tire pressure light.
  5. First turn the ignition to on (don't start the car).
  6. Now press and hold that button for 10 full seconds until the low tire light begins to blink.
  7. Now release the button and wait for the light to stop blinking.
  8. Now turn the ignition off and back on.
  9. The light will now be off.
  10. Replace the little access panel.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

I just had a yellow exclamation point surrounded by parentheses light up on the dashboard of my 2006 Honda Pilot (2wd) and on little car diagram the front left tire is illuminated? Is it a Speed sensor or...

Its the low tire light. On the drivers side door opening you should be able to find a sticker that tells you the proper tire inflation for you vehicle. Check all four tires to make sure they are properly inflated. If that tire is low it probably indicates there is a leak. Once all four tires are inflated drive the vehicle on the freeway for about ten minutes. the light should go out. If the light comes back on and the same tire is low than there is definitely a leak.

If all the tires are properly inflated and the light comes on there may be a problem with the sensor in that wheel. A TPMS scanner will be needed to see what the sensors are displaying for pressure.

What does an ! in a circle mean with ( ) around it

This (!) symbol is your TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) warning light.
The manual has this to say about it:
This system monitors tire pressure. if the low tire pressure warning light illuminates, check the tire pressure in all four tires. Adjust the low tire pressure to the recommended cold tire pressure shown on the Tire and Loading information label located in the driver's door opening. After tire pressures are adjusted, the vehicle will need to be driven at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h) to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light.

Hello Mattingly.

Here is some information for you regarding your problem.

The Tire Inflation Monitor (TIM) system alerts the driver when the pressure changes in one of the tires. The system only detects a low pressure condition while the vehicle is being driven. Once a low tire pressure condition is detected, the system informs the driver that a low tire pressure condition exist's, whenever the ignition is ON.
The LOW TIRE message appears on the Instrument panel if the tire pressure in one tire becomes at least 82 kPa (12 psi) lower or higher than the other three tires. The message does not appear if more than one tire is low or high, or if the system is not calibrated properly. The system does not inform the driver which tire is low. To clear this message, set the tire pressures in all four tires to the proper pressures and perform the system reset procedure. Refer to Tire Inflation Monitor Reset Procedure for service procedure.
The Tire Inflation Monitor software requires approximately one half hour of straight line driving to complete the TIM autolearn. There are several speed ranges that the EBCM needs to learn the tire inflation configuration in order to have the full capability of detecting a low tire condition. The speed detection ranges are the following:

  • 24-64 km/h (15-40 mph)
  • 64-113 km/h (40-70 mph)
  • 113-145 km/h (70-90 mph)
Each speed range has 2 modes of low tire detection.

  • Monitor Mode 1
  • Monitor Mode 2 The EBCM learns the tire inflation configuration for each speed range independently. In Monitor Mode 1, the EBCM has only partially learned the tire inflation configuration for the speed range and has limited detection capability for a low tire condition. In Monitor Mode 2, the EBCM has fully learned the tire inflation configuration for the speed range and has full detection capability for a low tire condition. If the EBCM is not in Monitor Mode 1 or Monitor Mode 2, a low tire condition cannot be detected because the EBCM has not learned the tire inflation configuration of the vehicle.

To reset (calibrate) the system:
Turn the ignition switch to RUN. Then press and hold the RESET button for about five seconds. The red RESET button is located inside the instrument panel fuse block on the right side of the dash.. The LOW TIRE light will come on and flash three times and then it will turn off.
The system completes the calibration process during driving.
The system normally takes 15 to 20 minutes of driving in each of three speed ranges to "learn" tire pressures. The speed rages are 15 to 40 mph (25 to 65 km/h), 40 to 65 mph (65 to 105 km/h) and above 65 mph (105 km/h).

There you are, this should fix you up.
Keep in mind this system uses wheel speed sensors to calculate. If one of your sensors isn't working your low tire light will remain on.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Low tire light came on - tire pressure ok

Because of changing outside temps this happens, just hold reset button on left side of dash until it reads tire pressure 100% again, just make sure your pressure is right before you do it. this is the same for oil changes and the like.
