SUMMARY: (1) CANNOT OPEN LIBRARY IN THE COMPUTER (2) CANNOT USE LAPTOP AND E-READER. Many moons ago I downloaded the library. Bought also a few books. Everything was fine. This week I bought a new book and tried to load it, but I cannot open the reader`s library in the computer. The PRS300 seems to work just fine. It is the reader`s library in my computer that won`t open. Please help. When I have the USB connected, it constantly says: do not disconnect and has the connecting symbol. But is fully charged. I assume the problem is it cannot connect with the computer`s reader. But I don`t know. I have tried to re-install the library at no avail. It tells me it already exist. I insist and seems to do something, but when it is time to launch, nothing happens. I then tried to install it in my laptop. Everything went fine, but when I tried to copy the book into the reader, it told me the e-reader belongs to another user and thus I have no permission to copy the book! I assume there is now a connection between my e-reader and my computer which does not exists between my laptop and my e-reader. This is another problem, because if I go on a trip, I would take the laptop, and not my computer.

You may need to delete some registry folders on you computer, you can check on this link to see the steps:

Also, the DO NOT DISCONNECT message is normal operation while the reader is connected, to have this message disappear you may need to safely remove hardware on the system tray

The message that you are not allow to copy the book, you may need to check if you are using the same ebookstore account, if you are using the same, follow these steps:

1. Connect the reader
2. Sign in to you ebook account
3. Click on my account link at the top
4. Click Manage Devices link
5. You will get a message that a new device is detected, click on authorize
6. You will be asked to reauthorize the device

My Nook Library has disappeared on my Nook-how do I restore it?

Download all the archived and unarchived books and save them to your computer. Never deleted these.
You have two options for the archived books.
Un-archive them and they will appear on your nook and download as you see fit.
OR... Sideload them. Which is probably what you did before since archived books already disappear from your My B&N Library and would have had to be in your My Documents Library.
Not exactly sure what you mean by 'does not go to my nook' when you try and save/download from the website.

If still having any kind of issue then you can take nook support from experts or call nook help number.

How do I transfer my music library to a new computer using the simpletech 1tb simpledrive?

itunes requires that you authenticate a computer with your log in account simply log in with old computer, save the itunes library to ext drive

then de authenticate the old computer

log in with new computer and authenticate it

then bring the itunes files on to new machine

takes a while but it works

I "think" I have downloaded and paid for a book on my e-reader. Problem: i bought directly from Sony in Dec. And cannot find the instruction book. About a month ago I found instructions online but cannot...

You bought the book on the Reader Store and now it won't show on your reader? Is the book on your Reader Library (not the device itself, but the computer library)? If it is, drag it to the Reader icon on the Reader library and it should upload. If that doesn't work, try syncing the information, although I wouldn't recommend it because its a pain when you try to delete information. Good luck!

I can download adobe reader but when trying to use or open,it says internal error

You will find the solution in the following link:

If that isn't correct, then you need to dump all of the Adobe Reader and Acrobat folders from

HD\Library\Application Support\Adobe
HD\Library\Preferences
Home\Library\Preferences


Also dump:
  • com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist,
  • com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist,
  • com.adobe.Reader_x86_9.0.plist,
  • com.adobe.Reader.plist, and
  • com.adobe.acrobat.90.sh.plist

wherever you find them in the HD\Library\Preferences or User\Library\Preferences folders.

Once you've done that, empty the trash, and install Reader 9.3.1.

Ereader library won't open

Hi.

If you're using the Windows Operating System, the issue may be caused by the Data Execution Prevention feature in the Windows Operating System or if certain folders used by the Reader Library Software are corrupt. Please click on the below link and select the desired Operating System to get the troubleshooting steps.
If the issue persists, uninstall the Software and restart the Computer.
Next, disable all the active Software's (Firewall, Anti-virus, etc) in the Computer and reinstall the Software.
Also, please ensure to check the "Launch Software" at the end of the installation. This should resolve the issue.
If you're using the Macintosh Computer, uninstall the Software as per the below mentioned steps:
First, click "Go" and then click "Applications" in the Main menu.
Next, in the "Applications" folder, in the right pane, double-click on the "Utilities" folder.
Then, in the "Utilities" folder, double-click "Terminal".Now, in the "Terminal" text window, type "sudo /Library/ebookLibrary/uninstall-ReaderLibrary.sh". There is a required space between sudo and /.
Next, please press "ENTER" on the keyboard. A confirmation message will appear. Please enter your Password or leave blank if you do not have a user account password.
After the Password has been entered or left blank for no password, press ENTER. You will receive the message that the Reader Library Uninstall is finished.
Now, please click "Terminal" and then "Quit Terminal" to exit the Terminal application in the Menu.
Finally, close all other open windows.
Now, restart the Computer and reinstall it.

Note: Ensure that the Reader is not connected to the Computer while performing any of the above mentioned steps for Windows/Macintosh Computer.

I purchased my Sony prs 600 a few hours ago replacing my older Sony reader. I get an error message -474. I cannot download books I have purchased from Sony reader store any suggestions?

The error -474 or -1106 sometimes occurs after an issue with validation or authorization in the Reader (eBook) Library software.

From the Reader (eBook) Store, deauthorize the computer.
Close the Reader (eBook) Library software.
Reopen the Reader (eBook) Library software.
Sign in to the account to authorize the computer again.
Try again to download a book purchased previously from the Reader Store.
If the error still occurs, proceed with the steps below:
Install the Adobe Digital Editions software. Use the installer at http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions.
Setup Assistant will be displayed in the Adobe Digital Editions program.
Click the Authorize button and then the Finished button.
Deauthorize the computer using Adobe Digital Editions
NOTE: Press Ctrl-Shift-D to deauthorize the computer.

Reopen the Reader Library.
Go to the Reader Store and sign in.
You will now be able to download an eBook and transfer it to the Reader device.

If issue persists, deauthorize the computer, then follow the steps below.

Browse to http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/ and download the software.
please sign in with the Adobe ID and password when prompted .
Now, click on the "Activate" option and close the Adobe Digital Editions Software
Reopen the Reader Library software.
Sign in to the Reader Store.
Try again to download a book purchased previously from the Reader Store.

When this situation occurs, the Reader will not appear in the left pane of the Reader Library software or the Reader Library may shut down when connecting the Reader to the computer. Follow these steps to resolve this issue.
IMPORTANT: Before starting this or any troubleshooting procedure, verify that the Portable Reader has been updated with the latest firmware version and that the latest version of the Reader (eBook) Library software is installed on the computer. The latest firmware and software is available at the Sony Support Web Site.
NOTE: Because each of these steps represents a possible solution to this issue, open the Reader (eBook) Library software and connect the Reader to the computer after completing each step.
  1. If the reader is not recognized by the library software, close the software, re-open it and then check the connection status again.
  2. Verify that the Reader is turned on and is not locked.
  3. Verify that the Reader battery has an adequate charge.NOTE: If the Reader battery is discharged, allow the battery to charge for at least one hour before attempting to connect the Reader to the Reader (eBook) Library software.
  4. Verify that the USB cable is properly and securely connected to the Reader and the computer.NOTE: The USB cable should be connected directly to the computer. Connecting the Reader using a USB hub or extension cable is not supported.
  5. Verify that the Reader displays the USB connection indicator in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  6. Remove any Memory Stick® media or SD media in the Reader.
  7. Disconnect the Reader from the computer, close the Reader library software and restart the computer.
  8. With the Reader disconnected from the computer, perform a hard reset.
  9. With the Reader connected to the computer, uninstall and reinstall the Sony Reader USB driver.
  10. Install the Reader library software on a different computer and connect the Reader.
The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required. Follow the below link to get it serviced:

3. Now transferring the books to the Reader:

In the eBook Library Software, select the "Library" view - this is where you can see all imported files and purchased eBooks.

Click on one, or several, titles and drag the files from your Library onto your Reader Digital Book (the Status symbol will start spinning for the duration of the transfer).
Once the Status symbol comes to a halt, the transfer is finished.
Still within the eBook Library Software, select your Reader Digital Book to verify that the file(s) are on the device.
If there are titles you purchased that are not in your Library, click here for directions to download these books from your account section.

How do I download my new ebook onto my sony ereader? Not the PRS-600 but the PRS-300.

first, download and install the Reader Library Software in the Compouter. download the software frm http://ebookstore.sony.com/download/ . Then, purchase and download the books to the library. Connect the Reader to the Computer. The Reader will be listed at the left pane of the software window. Now, open the library and then drag and drop the book to the Reader.
