SOURCE: I have a Haier ESA3067

Yes, rightly said that it is the main controller unit that hass failed . It will worth a try to remove the board and reset the touch pads once again after resolderring on the connecctions of the microprocessor and the connectors to the display.
Check the main +5 volt to the micro processor, check the filter and regulator if the voltage is down.
If not a replacement board can be thought of , but a trail spare to confirm ultimately will be worth unless you can confirm if the mP is not oscillating at all.

SOURCE: My Haier portable room air

Hi, I doubt if this unit has charging valves on it as most come from the factory with out them. I am sure it will use R-134A freon, but have you checked to see if your compressor is running and not just the blower? You may have a faulty run capacitor or compressor. They should never have to be charged unless they develop a leak somewhere. You would be better off taling it into a appliance repair shop and have it checked, as they can tell you real fast what is wrong. Good luck,

What is the measurement of ton on ac units.

Ton is a measure of cooling only when buildings were cooled by ice and how many tons of ice they would use in 24 hours.
British Thermal Units (BTU's) is also a measure of cooling as well as heating in 1 hour.
1 ton equals 12,000 BTU/hr and 1 watt equals to 3.41214 BTU/hr.

Troubleshooting

If by "not shut off" you mean the blower keeps running, that is normal operation. The blower only shuts off when the system is turned off.
When in cool or heat mode the room temperature is sensed in the units return air which requires air movement by the blower.

Check-1)Airflow be sure inside and outside coils are clean. Plus filter. 2)Leaks in duct return and supply 3)Temp difference across cooling coil. (Evaporator)should be around 18degree diffrence between air going in and air going out. 4)See that nothing is making heat run at same time. Like a stuck sequencer or short in control wires.

The unit has never worked properly and is only a year old. It does not produce any heat. How can I resolve the problem?

Is it giving cool? If yes, to solve heat problem, set th temp +5 degree than your room temp and mod in " Heat". If no heat and no cool means check your compressor is working.

9000 BTU/Hr split type system, heat pump ACU, 230 Volts

It is 3/4 TR. Consumes 4.6 amps maximum and can cover of 80 sqft area with normal height of 8 feet.
Heat and cool model. Keep heat mode and +5 degree more in temp setting for heat and keep -5 degree temp setting and mode in cool. All the best.

First day using the esa3067 and when the a/c is on the unit shuts off after about 5 minutes. It keeps doing this, it wont run the a/c for longer than 5 min...

Is the temperrature setting set to a level that is lower than the room temperature. If not set the thermostat to a still lower level and check. If the fault is still persisting then the thermostat can be faulty. If your AC is a new one it will be better to get the warranty on the machine than to do any work on it.
The controller unit can also be an area of suspect.

Indoor unit temperature between 60F & 70F after R22 charge..

The pressure changes with temperature, it is not a true gauge to ensure a proper charge.

You should have a 15 to 20 degree temp drop across the evap coil. (return air vs supply air)

Can you verify that the compressor is running?
Not the condenser, but the compressor located inside the condenser (outdoor unit)

it really sounds like it is still undercharged.
Check the temp drop, let me know what it is.
Also tell me what the outdoor ambient temp is.

( for example.... 98 degree outdoors with 85 degree indoor temp could result in pressures something like 325 on the high side and 75 or 80 on the low side.
With the exact same unit, but 80 degree outdoor temp combined with 70 degree indoor temp, your pressures could read 215 low side and 55 low side. Not to mention that more efficient units often have higher pressures on the low side because they have more coil space and remove heat more efficiently)
