Turn off phone, press and hold the 2 top soft buttons under the screen (not the larger ones with the phones on them). Press and release the power button while still holding the other 2. Wait a few seconds, when the screen changes you can release the 2 buttons. After a few minutes it will ask you to push the call button to reset. Make sure you have your contacts on the sim card, because all personal settings are erased.

I assume you are in the UK. There are many shops down Tottenham court Road that will reset to for you. I had a Spanish phone that would not work in the UK and it was reset in minutes. All you need is the software to reprograme the phone.
you need to reset it (small button on back or inside battery cover) and if that doesn't work then you need to do a hard reset by opening the battery cover, taking out the batteries and pushing the reset button on the inside. unfortunately the hard reset will delete everything.... but it will fix the problem
you can do a software reset.......to do this the phone needs to be off. press the soft keys (buttons with the lines on them above the back arrow and home button) and press the power button and keep you fingers on the soft keys until a black screen with white writing pops up....by pressing the green call button here, it will reset the phone.....good luck!
