I turn on my xbox 360 and i hear the sound but no picture i tried this mulitiple times in the past few days getting a picture every now and then. so i took the box apart and cleaned the gpu and cpu. put on...

Make sure all your connections are nice and tight. if they are, try switching cables. you could have a faulty A/V cable.

If you did the x-clamp mod, it could be that the GPU is coming loose again. Take your fan out and set it on the CPU. plug the fan in and turn the xbox on. leave it like this for 15 minutes. After fifteen, unplug the fan(carefully) while leaving the machine on. wait until it overheats. once the two red lights start flashing, leave it like that for 2 minutes. afterwards, turn it off, unplug it, put on a thick glove, and pull it out by the CPU heatsink, and tighten the screws under both the cpu and GPU. Be VERY careful. you can burn yourself if you're not careful. However, you can break it if you do this improperly. Make sure you do it quickly, you don't want the solder under the gpu to cool before you can reestablish a connection. I take no responsibility if this doesn't work, because i don't know how or if you did the x-clamp replacement to begin with.

X360 Picture not come up sound does

could be av leads but more likely to be heatsinks on gpu/cpu.if you have a 1 year warranty send it in to microsoft for repair,if not,the extended 3 year warranty does not cover this repair and will cost £81.if you want to fix this yourself, buy a xclamp kit off ebay for £2 take apart your console(theres plenty of videos on youtube on how to do this) remove heatsinks(you should get a link with xclamp kit on how to do this) and clean old thermal paste off and apply new,put xclamp kit on do the baker mod to heat up gpu, tighten screws and 99% it will work,if not try again till it does,i've done tis plenty of times and never had 1 that i hav;nt got working again

My ps3 turns on but theres just a black screen i tried removing the hard drive and still nothing any ideas?

More than likely, your GPU (graphics processing unit) is fried for one reason or another. This is common if the heatsinks are not secured properly or if there is not enought thermal compound applyed to the heatsink / gpu.

The picture stays black.. i bought a new hd cord and it still dont work.. i still get sound

If you don't want open the box then the towel trick is the only option. (not recommended)

Recommended fix: get youself a xbox repair kit and replaced the xclamps. You can get them at GamesRepair.com

My personal favorite method: Get yourself a heatgun. You can fine them at most hardware store for like $25-30. Open the case, take out the heatsink on the GPU. Set your heatgun at 300-400 degree and blow at the GUP for like 90seconds at circular motion and two inches above the the GUP. Let it cool down and apply new thermal compound. Put the heatsink back and everything else. Test your console before putting the case back on.

Xbox360 screen wont show

If it's under 3 years old and you've never opened it up then Microsoft(1-800-4MY-XBOX) will fix it under warranty. Otherwise you'll need to do the x-clamp fix. I've used the kit from http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/ring_of_light_x-clamp_fix.htm to fix this problem for a friend. Good luck

Sound no picture xbox 360

Yes but it would void the warranty the xbox, you would have to open it and then check if GPU has thermal compound on it, also you can try to put something between the dvd drive and the heatsink below, is a common problem that the heat sometimes damage the drive because is so hot, but you'll have to try it for your self, just be careful, there a tons on video showing how to open the xbox. just google it.

Overheating GPU or damage GPU either way, you have to open your xbox and check if the GPU and the heatsink have thermal compound on it. Comment if it doesn't work.

Xbox

Well before anything check if the cables are good, if they are then you'll have to open your xbox and check if the GPU have thermal compound on it. If it doesn't then buy one like Artic and put some on the GPU and on the heatsink then check if that works, if it doesn't work then it could that the GPU is damage or motherboard, well it could be many things other than the GPU.
Hope it helps :-)

Xobox 360 problem

First check if the cable is OK, then also check if the switch on the cable is in HDTV or TV deppends on your TV, then if all is fine, then you'll have to check inside the xbox and see if the heatsink of the GPU has thermal compound on it. If not put something like ARTIC themal compound on it, and see if that works. Hope it help.
