First check the operation and condition of the following:

This circuit is a sensing circuit. Usually a voltage range from 0 to 5 volts. Generally it should be between0.5 and 4.5. Now if it senses less in your case it will set the code. You will want to check the connections and sensor for corrsion or bad connections.

this code indicates a problem with the transmission range selected switch, this switch is on the transmission case where the shift cable attaches, when u select a gear it sends a signal to the computer control that u want lets say Reverse by sensing the range selector switch feedback, replace the switch will most likely cure the code, then clear the code and drive a few miles.
