I cant get the ribbon of the touch screen/ digitizer on my Nintendo DS lite to go back into the slot on the mother board, How do i do it?

theres a little black part that actually snaps open and close (like a flap) you have to snap it open, align/slide the ribbon in and then snap it closed. *it's kind of a pain...*
theres a picture of it here http://www.division-6.com/learn/midify-installation-ds-lite.php
hope it helps
~good luck!

My son dropped his DS and now the screen doesnt appear at all on the top screen

The LCD panel has probably become dis-joined from the socket beneath it. To fix this you would need to get the DS screen apart and re-seat it. There are snap locks on the case and torc screws. It's very difficult to fix without breaking it.

DS WAS DROPPED SCREEN FINE BUT WONT SWITCH ON

I think when you dropped it it might have snapped the connection between the battery and the power switch, to fix you may need to send to nintendo so the boffins there can fix it.

Or (cheaper option) the battery may have become displaced and all you might have to do is push it in again. Buy a tri-wing screwdriver of eBay for a couple of £'s, $'s or Euro's depending on what currency the seller accepts and carefully open the battery slot and just push it back into it's place

Hope that this helps

Ds console powers off after replacing screen

Well, looking at the diagnosis there are two possible problems. You could have both, or just one. Here they are and the solution.

1. Blown F2 fuse. The F1 and 2 fuses get blown most often. Between the two, it is the F2 if the system charges. Here is a website that will teach you how to solder it back together. This site has old and new DS systems on it. Before you solder make sure to check that it is broken with a multimeter.
http://www.m3wiki.com/index.php?title=Nintendo_DS_Lite_:_Repair_a_broken_console_(blown_fuse)

2. Misconnected Ribbons. The easier, and more common problem is that a cable isn't in all the way, or it is crooked. You should just check all your ribbons, and double check them. Take them out, put them in again, make sure all the fixings (little black things that hold the little ribbons) are in, and the snaps are snapped. If you have lost a fixing, just post and say that and I will tell you how to MAKE a new one.

Ds will not turn on

Easy problem to solve, if you know anything about soldering. A fuse is blown, either the F1 or F2. Here is a website to solve this http://www.m3wiki.com/index.php/Nintendo_DS_Lite_:_Repair_a_broken_console_(blown_fuse).
It talks about the DS Lite, but down at the bottom it shows you how to fix an Original Style DS.

If you don't know anything about soldering or think that you might mess it up, then sell it on eBay. If you distinctly state the problem in the auction, my fellow repairmen will quickly snap it up for a good price. If you need to know more you can contact me at dracomaster007@yahoo.com or post a question here. I'll be glad to answer it.

The top or the DS snapped

I believe you mean "the top of the DS snapped"
Anyways, if that's the case, it's normal. Unless the crack is very big, it really won't affect performance. Unless the crack starts spreading or its breaking off, you'll just need to buy a new one or get it fixed. IF you mean crack as in a sound, that's normal too.

DS blinks and will not turn on

Hi
As complicated a console as the DS is, it is not surprising you have a problem after changing a case. Sometime the little snap on wires do not snap on right.  You need to go back in and  make sure the ribbons and snap on connectors are sucured. The ribbon and wire that runs from top half through the hinge needs to roll up one turn before in the transition from the top to bottom half.  You may have the ribbon upside down in the connector.
