Question about GE Tritonr XL GSD6260JCC Dishwasher

1 Answer

GE Triton XL

We have been using the detergent packets for a few years now in our GE Triton XL dishwasher and had no problems at all. However, in the last couple of weeks, it is as if the door to the detergent compartment is not opening during the wash cycle. Instead of releasing the detergent, the packet is melting. We also tried liquid detergent with the same results. At the end of the heated dry, the detergent was still in the compartment. My detergent packs are sitting in the bottom of my dishwasher after it finishes running. Looks just like it did when I put it in the dispenser.

Try placing a packet in the bottom of the DW and then start a wash cycle ( use the energy efficient cycle that does not use the heater to dry the dishes..).. if it is not disolved at the end of the cycle then your water temp may not be hot enough..Hope that helps..

How is the china and crystal wash cycle different from the regular cycle on my GE Triton XL dishwasher? Can I use regular dishwasher soap on my china and crystal?

Most dishwashers that employ this setting use a lower temperature for the water and also they do not use the element to dry the dishes, they are air dried. China and crystal are very sensitive to changes in temperature and can crack easily. They should always be washed by hand however if you have to use the dishwasher make sure you have a mild detergent. No bleach or acid should be contained. If it says citrus anything it has acid in it. Also use half the amount of detergent regardless of its strength. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

First check that the water is turned on, usually found under the sink. Next check the float located inside the front of the tub. When you move it up and down it should click. Remove and clean around the tube.(It may need to be disconnected through the lower access panel. The screen on the water intake valve may need to be cleaned-also located behind the bottom front panel. If this doesn't fix the problem you may l need to replace the water intake valve or pressure switch.

Detergent left in dispenser cup

You either do not have enough water getting itno the machine or it is not hot enough. 5 years old so I would suspect a plugged screen on the fill valve.

Triton XL detergent dispenser won't stay closed

Well this is not a solution by any means but I would just put the tablet or powder directly into the machine-just "chuck it in". It will work just the same. The dispenser itself isnt truly necessary.

Make sure wash arms are going around. Set the arms to point right at you and mark with a marker (so you can tell if the arms moved, not just turned 180 degrees) and run the unit for a few seconds. If the spray arms don't move, look for obstucted holes in the spray arm(s). Toothpicks, plastic candy wrapers, seeds, etc. If all clear, so an "Ask Me" for other ideas.

GE Triton XL Dishwasher

My Triton XL soap dispenser still has a clump of soap after the cycle has finished. My glasses are left with a cloudy film, and my silverware is left marked with film on it. I have cut down on the amount of detergent, and have not overfilled. I have also tried using white vinegar as the manual states. Any suggestions? Thank you
