After changing gas tank - gas isn't coming out. grill not fireing up.

it could be the reg or a blockage in the line or open the taps on the grill then close them reconnect gas tank open slowly then tis if there is gas to grill

Since the main burners and the rear infrared burner (if so equipped) comes already installed, I don't think your assembling it is the problem. It's probably the grill's gas regulator that is giving you the problem. That's assuming you are following the manual's instructions on how to light the burners, the first time. For now, Ill assume you did. If you open the gas tank valve to fast, it shoots high pressure to the regulator & locks it up.

So, to solve the problem, follow the directions below:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly (It's 's not under warranty). It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

I don't think you need a new ignitor kit. The problem isn't there. It's the grill's regulator.
However, I do have some concern with the cracks inside the Hose Connect to the tank, being cracked. That should be replaced. You can pickup a new Hose/Regulator Assembly for about $30.00 any hardware store or home improvement center that sell grills and accessories. Take the old one with you for comparison purposes.

After installing the new hose. Open the Gas Valve on the tank VERY. VERY Slowly (Slow motion, slow). Doing it this way will, eliminate the problem you're having now. And always to it this way in the future.

The gas may not be reaching the burners. Try match lighting a burner to see if it is. If it isn't do the following.

Canister tank. Turn the valve off and remove the canister.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Reinsert the canister.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. Or you will have to replace the Canister Assembly. For that you'll have to go to Tec Grills. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

It sounds like a classic symptom of a failing regulator, try replacing the regulator and hose that runs to the tank.

What you described is not unusual with the main burners of a gas grill. As, there is no thermocouple on each burner, that would shut the gas off to that burner. You must turn the burner off, yourself. To the best of my knowledge, there is only one American made grill that has a thermocouple on each burner and it isn't a Weber grill.

If it's the infrared rotisserie burner, you're talking about, then that's a problem. That burner does have a thermocouple that may need cleaning or replacing.

If you still have a leak when the gas tank is turned OFF, it's not the grill leaking it's the propane tank valve leaking. Carefully disconnect the hose from the grill (No Smoking) and move the tank as far from the house as you can, into an open area, where the gas can dissipate. Propane gas is heavier than air, it doesn't rise it falls. If after doing this and you still smell gas leaking from the tank, contact your local fire department.
