Question about HP iPAQ RX3100 Pocket PC

Help with syncing!

I recently bought my first handheld. It is an ipaq 3100. One of my main objectives is to sync my word files from my computer to my handheld. I have been pulling my hair out for two days trying to figure it out. I think I have done everything right as far as installation, but who knows... Any help to keep my sanity would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Help with syncing!

Do you have Activesync installed? What is it doing? Do you have the appropriate boxes checked in Activesync to sync files -- if that is what you really want to do?? Can you copy and paste files from the PC to your "Mobile Device" in Windows Explorer on the PC?

IPAQ 1950 suddenly will not connect to PC to allow sync

Same problem, on four computers with two iPAQ 1950's. I installed ActiveSync 4.5, and all works fine now. This link will get you to AS 4.5:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/activesync-register.mspx

This SHOULD work for all PDAs, but I have only used it for the 1950.

Ipaq h2210 won't sync with desktop

Usually the simplest solution with Microsoft software such as active-sync is to uninstall it and install it again from scratch. When you reinstall it will ask you what programs you want to sync with, your old PIM software has been lowered in priority in favour of Outlook because MS think everyone should want to use it, so it's often easier to start using Outlook as your main PIM.

H5555 sync problem

When you attach your ipaq, you should be able to go into My Computer and view the ipaq as a removable storage device, seeing the actual files and folders located on your ipaq. I would attempt to transfer the files via copy and past if Activesync cannot do it. If that solves the problem then its simply that Activesync is encountering some sort of memory overflow, if it still cannot sync then there is a problem with transfer protocol its using.
