Laptop touchpad by finger not working but wireless mouse is working

It could be that your laptop is "smart" so basicly when you have the wireless mouse attached it disables the mousepad. But for more troubleshooting go to Controlpanel----> mouse to figure it out. Keep your head cool and try diffrent things out with logic.

I am looking for manuals for my new Acer Aspire AS5252-V917 so that I can figure out how I can do things, ie start using the laptop, attaching a mouse, usb devices. Something that tells me where to find...

Let me know exactly what you want to know on the laptop. I'm very experienced with laptops. For connecting a mouse, you would have to find one that has a USB. Most mouses like they can be found at newegg.com or tigerdirect.com ...

Took aprt to clean because its been overheating, figured out the keyboard but now my mouse isnt working, suggestions??

I'm assuming you're using an external USB mouse, either wired or wireless (correct me if I'm wrong). Does the mouse work if you plug it into another USB port on the computer (or on another computer)? If so, it's probably that particular port that's bad, otherwise it's either the mouse or, if it's a wireless mouse, the USB receiver.

In my applemac laptop the attachment is deleting automatically after receiving the mail ... kindly suggest a solution

I assume you are using Apple Mail. Have you tried pointing the mouse at the attachment and right-clicking (or holding down Command and clicking) the mouse. A menu should pop up, allowing you to save or open the attachment.

I haven't used Mail for a while (I use Google's Gmail), so I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.

Good luck! Please let us know if this helps you solve the problem.

My mouse pad does not work nor does USB cable

Has the mouse lock been applied.
Press and hold the "FN" key and then press "F9" this should unlock the mouse and touch pad.
Failing that try updating the drivers for both using the device manager as I have found that recent updates have disabled my touch pad and I have rolled back the drivers to the previous ones.

Usb mouse not working on new laptop, was then all of sudden just quit

Is this a wireless mouse? If yes, you need to isolate the problem. Please follow the steps below:

1. Use fresh batteries.
2. Connect the wireless receiver/dongle into different USB ports of the computer.
3. Make sure that the mouse is turned on and then try to reconnect the mouse to the receiver by briefly pressing the connect button on the receiver and then hold down the connect button on the mouse.

Hope this helps and have a great day!
