Question about Maytag Dryers

1 Answer

Monday afternoon I put some clother on to dry. My husband was at home so I left to go to my mother's home. When I got home i went to get the clothes out of the dryer and they were still wet. I pushed the knob to restart it and it would not do anything. I looked at the microwave and saw the power had gone off. My husband said it went off for just a second and came back on but it was like a surge and then died down real low and then back to normal. We have replaced the fuse and it still won't come on. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I need my dryer.

Countdown timer not working

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the timer on your Electrolux dryer, model#EIMED55IIW, is not advancing to show you how much time is left on the dry cycle. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and restart your dryer. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dryer status has changed successfully.

-Best Regards-

I ran into this last week. Customer said that when on auto dry. Unit would run for a long time. When he checked the unit, the display showed 1:40 left but he opened and checked. Clothes were bone dry. His last power bill was $400.00 when normal was $210.00. I called factory and ran the internal codes. The first thing that came up was F1. Meaning bad main board. I'm waiting on part so I can install on customers unit.
Please rate solution.

Dryer on sensor dry - gets stuck on 6 minutes and does not finish

We have been having this same problem. I had tried adjusting everything that I could think of when putting a load of laundry in and got the exact same results as you. I would select the sensor dry and it would count down just like normal until it got to 6 minutes and then it would just run forever at 6 minutes.
My husband and I searched online all this afternoon and came across what seemed way to simple to work. We removed the lint filter, unscrewed the filter housing right inside the door of the dryer, and got to the sensors. We took a damp cloth and wiped them off very well to remove any and all buildup. We wiped everything down very well to remove any built up lint and/or dirt and put everything back in place as was before. We then unplugged the dryer for about a minute and then plugged back in. We put a load of already dry clothes into the dryer and started as usual with the sensor dry. It started out at the usual 41 minutes then skipped down almost immediately to 6 minutes and then a few minutes later I heard the most beautiful sound I have heard in a long time. The Beeper signalling that the timer had counted down to the end and was finished. It had worked. Thankfully. Hope this helps you also.

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.
