WILL NOT CONNECT TO LINSYS HOME ROUTER BUT WILL CONNECT TO WORK NETWORK

What do you mean it won't allow you to put in the home network passcode? When you click connect to your home network, does the password request come up for you to put it in? If not, you've got your settings wrong on the laptop

There are some configurations that allow you to put in the password and then are are some that allow you to use a pin. I bet you've got your connection in the laptop configured wrong.

Just purchased an I-Pad Touch and can't get connected to WI-FI because I have no password for the network 2WIRE625. Please help

I-Pad's work on any wifi signal and pick up both public and private networks. The network you are trying to access is locked by the user or network admin. You can connect it to your own home wireless network or go to a local mcdonald's or something and pick up a public network.

I am not able to connect my iphone to my home wifi (which uses dlink-DIR 615). I am able to connect my iphone with other unsecured wireless networks. But, mine is a secured one (WPA). Do I have to change...

No, just like when you set up a wireless connection for the first time with a home network, you need to input the network key. As long as you have the key handy, it should work!! For example, when I connect my iPhone to home network, I see my network name "553c" and I "touch" that and it asks what kind of security it has (unless this has changed, my iPhone is 1st generation) so I pick WEP (you will pick WPA of course : ) )and then it prompts for the network key. Hope this helps!!

Maybe your internal antenna has come unplugged. Try opening the back plate and looking at the wireless card, usaually they have a black cable and white cable pressed onto two studs on the wireless card. carefully try to push the cables down firmly onto the card. NB this may void your waranty make sure battery is taken out before you start and not plugged into mains.

Toshiba portege A600 notebook. wireless

unless you have a wireless router in your home; the msg "windows cannot find any wireless networks"

means any network in your area is too far away, or has a signal so weak your laptop is not picking it up as a viable source.

visit . www.filehippo.com and DL a file called Ccleaner. Run this program - it will clean all your internet caches and junk files, then run the registry cleaner. Reboot.
This can keep you from connecting.

Also try moving to different areas in your home and refreshing your wireless search.

if you are worried your wireless card may not be working properly, take it to a place like mcdonalds, or anywhere that has free wi-fi offered. if you still can not pick up a signal there you have narrowed it down to your wireless adapter.

you can also try this little program. Easy Wi-fi radar found here

Laptop use away from home

You cannot access your home network while away from home with your current hardware setup.
It is perfectly fine to use a nonsecure access point when away from home but just make sure you turn off any sharing you have of your devices so nobody can browse your computer.

Laptop Cannot Find Home Wireless Network

Try logging into the router with your desktop hard-wired and find the 25-digit passcode and use that to log on to the wireless network with the laptop. If not, then check if connection is good by hard-wiring the router to the laptop. Let me know what happens or if you have solved the problem.
