I believe the switch inside the left mouse button has worn out or broken that made you think after pressing 4 times you were able to trigger the switch and make the mouse to work. You may open your mouse carefully to see if this is the case. If not please follow the below steps as you might need to configure the mouse double click speed.
Open control panel>Double click on the mouse icon>Button Tab>Double Click section>Adjust your double click speed.

I tried the buttons but that doesnt seem to work

Are you able to view the red light on the bottom of the mouse? If not, your batteries are installed backwards. It's counterintuitive. The left batter is installed with the negative end exposed. Typically the sign displayed is what you should insert. Reverse the direction of your batteries, make sure the infrared light is visible and then click the green button on your mouse along with the connect button on your USB device.

My laptop screen quickly blinks when turned on...if I tilt my screen closer to me...the blinking stops. My left mouse button on my laptop doesnt work unless I press down very hard. I used the air duster on...

The screen issue is due to a loose or crimped cable in the hinge area of the screen that needs to be tightened or un-crimped.

The mouse button sounds like it lost the pad that went between the button and the sensor that tells the computer that the button was pressed.
Both issues should be easily fixed at your local repair shop.

Keyboard doesnt work mouse does

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud

Left mouse click quit working

Hi

If this a laptop touchpad mouse button, I've had a similiar problem with a older laptop, the button was not getting touched properly, I had to press it harder a few times and it eventually started to work again.

There maybe something in between case and the button that is perventing it from being pressed completely.

If this doesn't help, try using a external usb mouse for example.
The laptop might need to be taken apart and the touchpad buttons looked at and possibly cleaned or the buttons / whole touchpad replaced to sort out the problem.

Thanks and good luck, let me know if you need further assistance.

Left click is broken

Actually, first you should try taking the mouse open and cleaning the sensor clicker thing or whole mouses insides, I had similar problem before, that fixed it for me.

Other option which I haven't tried and am not sure if works, you could try to move one of the side buttons that you don't use sensor to the place of the left mouse button. This I HIGHLY advice against tho since this might break down the mouse totally.

Then again if it comes down to not properly working mouse and you have to get new one versus broken mouse and you have to get new one, you have nothing to lose.
