Question about HP iPAQ H5555 Pocket PC

Just "turned off"....

Hi, I'm a new user here, and have enjoyed my Ipaq 5550 for a few years. Friday night it was fine. Today I went to turn it on this morning, and it didn't even turn on. I have had it charging in the cradle when I'm home, so I don't think it was a battery thing. (had the battery replaced by HP about a year ago). Any ideas? thanks!

Re: Just "turned off"....

Was it charging over the weekend? If not, try to recharge the device again... Those devices would on occasion drain the batter overnight -- didn't happen all the time and was apparently caused by unusual software/applications combinations... The battery could be going bad again as well.

IPAQ 5550 can I override the pin number?

Simple Solution:

Perform a hard reset and then attempt to login repeatedly (10x).

You will then be prompted if you wish to reset the pin entirely.

Good luck,

Hp ipaq 5550

To do a full reset, you hold the calendar and itask buttons (buttons 1 and 4) down at the same time, then insert the stylus into the little hole on the bottom and press gently. Hold all for 4 seconds. The screen should begin to fade. Now release all. If successful, you will not be able to start the machine by pressing the on button. You will have to reconnect to ac power to start it.

That is all there is to it.

5550 not powering on

was the battery a exact replacement to the one you removed?

also do you have the power adaptor for it put the old battery back in and see if it will run off the adaptor with the old battery plugged in and then you know the issue is with the new battery and not the unit itself.

Ipaq h5455 wont stop wibrating and i cant reset it

try a hard reset - it will restore to the original state. it removes all files and programs in the memory files in a storage card wont be affected.

Just hold down the calendar and today buttons, these are the two outer buttons on the lower left and lower right, then using a stylus press and hold for at least ten seconds the soft reset button this is located on the lower right edge of the unit. The screen should reset and the iPAQ will boot up again.

PAQ 5550 and MMC 4.x (Plus)

so MMC cards are the older version of SD cards. Ipaqs support the fast SD cards and all sizes up to the max.

My iPAQ will not charge or turn on ...

Can you get the iPaq hooked up directly to AC power? There's apparently a charging threshhold for badly depleted batteries that the USB port cannot get over.

Rz1715 continually reseting

Charge it overnight then do a hard reset... You will lose any data or files that you have added, but if a hard reset doesn't fix it, you should return it to HP...
