Chances are there is a defective drive gear inside you need a tech to resolve this prob.

see if the gear tooth are smaller than before, if there is any sign of powderized palstic all around then gears need to be changed no amount of lubrication can corrrect this.

also check the orientation of gears, for any sign of mechanical binding this can also cause grinding and unusual sound

cheers

What the part no for main motor assy. The whole assy that needs to be replaced due to unusual grinding noise during paper run.

You cannot typically buy the entire assembly as one piece. You need to purchase the main motor and then all the related gears. There are companies out there that sell a kit with all the gears, look for one for the 5200 laserjet as they are the same.

Banging noise when printing. Changed cartridge and didn't help.

That is a swing gear and its damaged. Service will be needed. The part is an RM1-0043 Swing Plate Assy and you may also need to replace the fuser RM1-1082. The cost plus repairs will be around $250-$300 due to the 45 minutes it will take the service tech to remove the swing gear assy.

When i print, the printer makes a grinding noise the paper gets jamed also.

Remove the fuser unit and check if there is a residue on the side of the gears. If so, you 'll have to replace the swing gear assy. Partnumber 5851-2766. It is not an easy job!!!

Color Laserjet 2550 Loud Noise when starting up and printing

Remove toner cartirdge and check gears on cart as well as all of the gears you can see inside the unit for any signs of wear. You may also need to remove the fuser assembly and perform the same task with the gears back there. MAKE SURE THE POWER HAS BEEN TURNED OFF AND THE PRINTER UNPLUGGED FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO TOUCH THE FUSER. IT WILL BE HOT!!! Most frequently these kinds of noises from the printer are due to gears slipping. Sometimes simply reseating the fuser assembly or toner cartridge will fix it. If there appears to be excessive wear on any of the gears, you will need to replace them.

Loud noise

If your also encounter prints that have a roller/crease at the right and slight crinkling at the left then your fuser should be replaced.
