If the socks has caught into the system then the SPINNING SPEED would have dropped.
So please check if the motor/ motor drive is free if not the assembly can be taken out and checked.
Please find tips to remove the drum and assembly:

I have an Electrolux EW Aqualux 1200. Two weeks ago a sock was stuck into filter. I removed it, switch off/on machine a few times, ran machine empty. However since then machine is spinning only if it is...

9 years a good life for Washing Machine, I can't see why you have this problen , since you cleared it by taking sock out of filter, but expensive to get repairer to look at it , as 9 years old , get a new one . Better than spending money on a repair,

Wpxh214foww not spinning dry

If your washer is not spinning your clothes dry, it can be a couple of things.
Firstly, it's possible that you have to re-balance your washer. Just lift it up in front a couple of inches (or push it back to tilt) and let it slam down to the floor. You may need to do this several times. Or you might need to just re-balance your washer load.
I've found that sometimes, if you have uneven weight clothing in the machine, such as jeans and socks together, the heavier items don't get spun out. This happens a lot when there is heavy items in there, so just try to not mix those. Also, I notice with mine, that it wouldn't spin things dry enough on my mild settings if I had a heavy item loaded in it, so I would re-spin it on heavy load setting. This worked for a while but it eventually stopped altogether. My machine was doing this more and more, until finally it gave out and wouldn't spin at all. Turned out I needed a new spinning switch. Went to my nearest appliance repair store and bought it for about $35.00. Was an easy to do fix, and cheap too. Took about 20 minutes from start to finish.
Store told me that this switch gives out on washing machines quite often and people don't realize they don't need to go out and buy a new machine. (which I hope you didn't yet )
And too...when you have your machine lying down to change the switch, you'll be able to find any lost socks in there at that time !! Occasionally, that's the problem too.
Good luck with your repair project. I hope your machine gets working again soon.

Every time my washer gets to the spinning cycle it makes a screeching noise. Wondering if there was a solution.

Almost sure it's a sock inside the drummer.
Must call a technician.
And in the future, use a bag to socks ;)

Baby sock caught under agitator

funny thing is the two most common things to block a water pump hose are a small coin and a babys sock yet your the first person ive seen belive it to be a sock. yet as i said that will only block the drain hose to the water pump if the washer is pumping out water then its not that if it is that the bin! wont spin you have other problems it could be a loose belt the gear box or the main motor has simply strarted to give out a small sock wont stop it from spinning

hope it helps some

Kenmore 44092/spin cycle

It turns out that there was a sock stuck within the pump in the washing machine. I removed the back cover and removed all the excess water, because once the sock was removed, the water was free to escape. I just removed the hose that connects to the pump and felt the sock, and was able to remove it. Once I hooked everything back up, the washing machine ran great.

Kenmore Washing Machine won't agitate, spin, or drain

The problem sounds like the motor to transmission coupler. If it is not draining or spinning you may find that the lid switch is inop.
