Fix the cigarette lighter in kia rio 2002

You need a wiring diagram for that component. I would chech both the engine and cabin fuse locations and check all fuses. Then check the lighter with a test light

I have a 2002 Kia Rio and i have no power what so ever..no lights , no battery power..nothing works..i was driving and the car just shut off..no lights ..no power to anything ..its like the car is...

Sounds like you cooked the main fuse going from the battery to the fuse box. Or something happened to one of the battery cables.
There should be a 75 or 100 amp fuse that powers the main fuse box.

Only replace fuses when they no longer have continuity.youll save money.If you have to replace them often suspect an electrial problem & fix SHORT IN CIRCUIT

Both the rear screen heater and the blower on speeds123 have stoped working kia rio 2002 fuses ok

The unit needs to be replaced you can get it on ebay or a junk yard for 30 to 50 bucks.

Use a set of needle nose pliers to clamp on the fuse and pull it out. If you melted a fuse (plastic body) you may have bigger issues. Most fuses do not blow in such an energetic manner.

Have kia rio 2001, i cannot start it and i sspect that the man fuse is the cause. what is the function of the main fuse? i think its burnt

its there incase somthing draws too many amps that could possibly damage batery or burn wire harness (like a short to ground between battery and fuse box or ignition switch) check it by seeing if there is battery voltage on both sides or remove it and do a continuity test with a multi meter from one side to the other. If you have power when you turn the key on i doubt this is your problem

The main fuse protects the other fuses and relays from a bad surge. Like hooking up jumper cable backwards or something major like that where if that main fuse was not there you could do a lot of damage to things that would cost a lot and take a lot of time to repair.
To replace this one I think it is two screw on the big 80Amp fuse inside the box and pull the bad fuse out and set a new one in it's place (either way is fine) and put the screws back in. That's it really. Nothing special to it. On GM's they use a couple big bolts to hold in the Main Fuse on the side of the Under The Hood Fuse Panel.
