Here you go.
Radio Side -- Car side
12v (Yellow) -- Orange/Black
ACC (Red) -- White/Black
Ground (Black) -- Black or chassis ground(bare Metal)
Pwr Ant (Blue/white) -- Pink
If your not adding and amplifier than your system remote should be used for power antenna which is the pink.

I am trying to hook up a new car stereo in my 1992 honda civic, when i hook it up nothing comes on but i know there is power cause if i hook an old radio up it works please help

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially on most aftermarket car stereos, confirm that the following wires are connected as described:
  • yellow - to an always available +12 such as the battery's + terminal;
  • red - to an switched +12 such as the ACC terminal of the ignition switch; and
  • black - ground preferably to a metal frame support/bracket rather than the harness ground.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Having trouble hooking up the pioneer deh1700. the colors dont match with the vehicle its a 92 chevy lumina

" I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL NOR AM I ACTING SUCH, I am only stating what I have done to solve "this" kind of problem.

First look on the original stereo from the Lumina and look for a wire digram to see the color coded wires. If you see this match with the list below, if you do not see this... after removing the stereo, With a test light or multi-metor look for a good ground to place the - clip or - probe. then look for a red wire. place the + end or the test light into the plug. if it light up that is the constant + [hot] wire. then with the ignition ON, place the light probe in to the next socket till you find another hot wire. turn the key OFF and see if the light shuts off. when you find this wire it is your ACC. the power antenna on my Honda is yellow/white I do not know the factory color for yours maybe blue, i don't know. to locate your speaker wires...... generally same colors [ brown, brown/black yellow, yellow/red and such]. you can take the batt pack out of your cordless drill and "TAP" the wires to the + and - of the batt pack. {hold the white to the + side and tap the white with black stripe to the - side...the speaker will make a popping sound. log all the colors with the location. You should have this....2 speakers should have 4 wires, 4 speakers - 8 wires If you do not have the amount stated then you have a common ground system and your - is grounded to the chasis [body/frame] and you will have one + wire for each speaker.
" just in case " the wire diagram for the Pioneer DEH 1700 is as fallows...
Black -- GROUND [-]
Yellow -- 12V constant [+]
Red -- 12V ACC [key on + only]
Blue -- Power Antenna

White -- left front +
White/black -- left front -
Grey -- Right front +
Grey/black -- Right front -

Green -- Left rear +
Green/black -- Left rear -
Violet [purple] -- Right rear +
Violet -- Right rear -

DehP6700 mp restet everytime keys is turned on.

first red is ignition or acc (turns off and on with the key) yellow is constant power (always hot keeps memory) orange is illumination (lights up radio) if vehicle doesnt have a seperate illumination wire connect it to the ignition wire. now process of elimination your ground is correct because it worked with all wires to acc your acc works because u had all them connected to it and it worked your problem is in your yellow or constant/memory i suggest u test it again take piece of wire any old thing long enough will do and run the wire directly from the battery under the hood and just run it outside the car through the window and connect it directly to the yellow wire make sure u have a good connection at the battery on the positive side if u have test light or volt meter test the wire before connecting it to the radio if it works then u know there is a problem with the wire from the vehicle (fuse wrong wire bad wire ) if it doesnt work make sure ground is connected tight and that paint is cleaned of the surface where ground connects and that the yellow wire to the radio is tight in the back of the radio.

Wiring a radio

check auto fuse panel. Radio fuse may be out if you touched the 12V to ground while wiring.
bench test to verify proper radio operation before digging into your car.

Pioneer Premier DEH-P730

Hi,

Pioneer follows standard color coding for stereo/headunit wiring. Pioneer car stereos needs two wires plus the ground wire to be activated. The yellow is connected to the always on B+12 such as the positive terminal of the battery, the red goes to a switched B+12 such as the ACC of the IGN switch while the black of course goes to the chassis/body ground.

Should the above been done correctly and problem persist, then perhaps the fuse may have blown, there is a loose connector at the rear of the head unit or a probable internal electronic defect has developed.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
