Water leaking onto floor from refrigerator/freezer

Whirlpool Model ET18NK
Water leaks out onto floor - today, enough to soak two kitchen towels.A couple of days ago I removed the two vegetable crispers and found the bottom well full of water. I cleaned it all out and it is still dry. The tray that sits on top of the condenser unit is bone dry. I can't figure out where the water is coming from.

The defrost drain is stopped up. Without taking anything apart, the easiest way to clear the drain is to blow compressed air through the drain tube which is at the back of the Fridge. You'll see it..... it drains water into the drip pan. Hope this helps !

SOURCE: frigidaire refrigerator with ice maker leaks water

It sounds like your ice maker is leaking.
If you are able, try opening up the ice maker for a visual inspection.
just remember to unplug first.
Apparently there is a leak somewhere.
Sometimes ice makers will over flow if the float gets stuck or a connection has come loose.
If you cannot work on it yourself, then I suggest looking up a service technician on the Fixya website.

SOURCE: water is collecting in bottom

check the drain off the coil inside the fridge you can usually find it by looking at the back of the fridge and locating the hose running down to a tray either on top of the compressor or its own receptacle it will probably be blocked, air pressure back up this line usually removes the offending object and allows it to drain again

SOURCE: Freezer leaking water

The drain is plugged just below the coils in the back of the freezer. My fridge had the same problem and I found the hose (which can be accessed from the rear bottom) was plugged with mold. Also, i noticed the hose was connected to the water holding pan and was too close to the bottom and easy to plug. I removed it from the connector and just let it dangle in the holding pan.

I have a magic chef French door refrigerator. Water under the freezer becomes ice and when this melts water seeps onto the floor. Sometimes enough water to completely soak a couple of towels

Lower the setting to your FREEZER this may be defrosting too often and the drip pan is over filling, or stop leaving the doors open too long .

Water leaking from whirlpool gold refrigerator

When refrigerators leak water it usally is a sign that the defrost drain found inside the rear of freezer and behind the rear panel of freezer has become clogged with ice or gunk. Sometimes the pan below refrigerator has a crack and allows water to leak onto floor. Samsung Fridge Freezer leaking water

hi August.
Cause: A blocked defrost drain is one of the most common causes of water leakage. This happens when food particles or other debris clogs up the drain hose, which can lead to ice buildup and, eventually, water leaking out of the freezer and refrigerator.
3 common refrigerator problems you can easily fix yourself

The freezer drain hose will drain the defrost water into a drip pan at the bottom of the freezer. When this pan becomes full, it will leak water onto the floor. This is a regular maintenance task whenever the freezer defrosts. Empty the drip pan during the defrost cycle.
How to Fix Water Leaking From the Bottom of Freezer

Why is my fridge leaking water on the floor? If the refrigerator is leaking water it's possible that the refrigerator has a clogged or freezing defrost drain. If the defrost drain freezes the defrost water will overflow the drain and drip down to the bottom of the compartment, If enough water accumulates in the bottom it can run out onto the floor.

Look for obstruction at the drain tray for the freezer. Common to have plastic wrap sucked into that area.Or gunk in the drain line. Blow through line to insure the gunk is not an issue.

Model ET14NKXEW00 Top freezer 1996 model Whirlpool refrigerator

Water from the melted evaporator frost is normally drained down to a pan mounted on the compressor . The heat from the compressor is normally enough to vaporize this water. Sometimes the evaporation may be reduced due to- high humidity (in the kitchen). Try keeping the exhaust fan on for a while. Also check if the drain line is blocked or shifted out of the drain pan.

Our Whirlpool top freezer unit is leaking water into the refrigerator. The model number is ET21NKXGW01 and at the top of the inside of the fridge, water is draining out into the fridge. The defrosting...

We were able to fix the freezer water leak. We unscrewed the false freezer floor and the inside back panel. Ice had accumulated on the freezer floor and the defrosting drain was frozen. We removed the ice by using a blow dryer then poured boiling hot water onto the frozen drain hole. The frozen water in the drain pipe hole eventually melted and the water released into the defrosting drip pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. Problem solved. We no longer have water leaking into the refrigerator.
