Blue disk light on until console unplugged now games won't work

One has nothing to do with the other. It's a coincidence.

The blue light means that there is an update available from Nintendo to be installed. It could also mean that you received a message or news from Nintendo. If you don't like the blue light, you can change it in the wiiconnect24 settings.

If your Wii isn't reading games, the first thing to do is to check the disc. If it is not scratched or no discs at all are working, your drive needs to be replaced. You can find a new Wii DVD drive replacement at the following page:

Wii unable to recognize the disc in Disc channel

This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your Wii including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your Wii going again!

My game won't work when i go to the disc channel on wii!

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

Reads disc but won't play

this is an interesting problem, if its actually reading the games then the channel icon changes to the game's logo doesnt it, but you cant launch games, you tried restting the console obviously, thats about he only thing i could think to try personaly for this issue, i would advise calling nintendo's 1800 number, suprisingly they are actuallyvery helpfull and will normaly solve your issue, they replaced my power supply for free, and i wasnt on the phone very long either, try it and see what they say, it may be something they can walk you through fixxing on the phone, but i imagine it may mean replacing or repairing your console through nintendo. sorry I could provide any more info.
