I don't seem to have an adjust button to set the chimes so they will give correct number of rings per hour. I have the dial to change the minutes and a start and stop for the chimes, am pm and the one to change chime 1 and 2. Can anyone tell me what might work. I feel really stupid.

The clock chimes right on the hour and used to chime once on the half. Now it chimes the number on the half instead of once.Need just chime once on the half

The next time it gongs multiple times turn the hour hand clockwise until it is pointing at the number of times it gonged. Next take off the dial nut off (make sure to put it in a plastic bag because they can be hard to replace) and turn the minute hand until it strikes once. Now put the minute hand back on pointing to 6 o'clock and replace your dial nut and you are all set.

How do I make my clock chime the correct number of times?

whenever the battery is weak the chime changes....whenever you change battery the clock chimes to the last time it chimed so...try setting your clock to next hour of chime n then move the hands of clock to next hour n your clock will chime accordingly.....
in this way waiting for chime to finish ...set to clock to present time ....waiting for it to chime every time the minute hand passes 12

How do I synchronize a Grandfather Clock to chime correctly on the right hour?

Count the number of times the clock strikes, while leaving the minute hand pointing at the twelve, move the hour hand ( short hand) to the number it struck. ( this is the only time you should ever move the hour hand yourself). Tighten the hour hand by pressing the hour hand in towards the dial just a little. This can be done by placing a thumb nail on each side of the base of the hour hand at the center shaft. You do not want the hand to touch the dial. Now run your clock up to a quarter after, and let it chime. Now the half hour, the third quarter, and finally the hour. It should strike the correct hour if done correctly. Short version, move minute hand(long hand) to twelve so that it's pointing straight up. 2 move hour hand(short hand) back one hour. 3 tighten hour hand by pushing in toward dial. 4 check the function by advancing the clock one quarter hour at a time letting it chime in between quarters, then counting the strike on the hour. Hope this helps, and not confuses. Good Luck

My Gazo GF Clock won't chime on hour at all

When you are setting your clock, when you go pass the hour you have to let the clock chime completely, if you do not do this you can damage the time sequence..You have to reset the chime cable or belt...but anytime you set your clock when you get to hour let it chime completely before continuing on...Try also going around with hour hand onetime and let it chime, if it will chime at all, if not you can get a manual download online. Clocks like yours has websites and support who can help you...I think it just needs the chimes reset.

My clock chimes the correct amount of chimes on all hours except 7. At 7 it chimes 5 times

In a quartz movement clock, with a problem like this, the chime box (or whole movement) will need to be replaced. Timesavers.con carries a large selection of chiming quarts movements.

I NEED THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING THE CHIMES/TIME ON MY WESTMINSTER LINDEN MANTEL CHIME CLOCK

Manually turn the minute hand forward until the 16 westminster chimes sound and then the hour strikes. Then remove the minute hand (it will go on in four positions) and put it back on at the 12 o'clock position. The chimes should now be back into sync.

Whitting and Westminster Jean luis Electronic clock

I found my own solution through trial and error. I set the dials to 12 00 and then move the dials to show just over 5 minuites to 12 ( 1155) the alarm melody start and chimes for a number ( in may case it was one.) then i moved the dial back to 1200 and then reset it again to 1155 or just over. Each time the alarm chimes an increasing number
I had the clock chime settings on the back of the clock to the middle setting (chimes on 24 hours)
I carried out this until the chime was right for the time i was working ( in my case it was 1730) so when it reached 5 chines I then set proper time and left it. The next chime was correct
