Tried using my M753 camera and it wouldn't come on. Brought it home and hooked it to the computer and still nothing. Hopefully a new battery will help, but by reading these responses I'm not sure.

camera was working fine yesterday and today it wont turn on, wont charge and my computer wont recognise it!!!

  • NavyWife07 Nov 06, 2008

I have the same problem. I was using the camera and it was working fine and the next day it wouldn't turn on. I tried charging it on the printer dock but it wont even recognize it, so I went out and bought a new battery but it still wont turn on. Very frustrating!

Same identical problem w/ not only my M753 but also 2 other EasyShares that are a little older. I needed one for Thanksgiving and had to go out and buy a new one tonight. I got the M1063... I just fully charged it and inserted my memory card. Keeping fingers crossed....

My camera started doing the same thing two months ago. It seems like this a fairly common problem. You would think that Kodak would look into it and do something about it.

  • Anonymous Dec 04, 2008

I have the same problem. after charging it with the usb it wont power up. If I wait for a day it seems to fix itself and will start working again. So frustrating if I want to use it right away. What is the problem ?

  • rosepetal159 Dec 23, 2008

My Kodak Easyshare M753 camera will not charge with the USB. I cannot get any power either. I took it to Best Buy and they said that the problem is not the charger, but the camera. I got the camera last year for Christmas, the one year manufacturer's warranty is up and now I am going to need to buy a new camera. I have probably only used it 5 times total.

Remove the batteries and clean the battery contacts inside the camera with a soft cloth (a heavy buildup on the contacts may require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that the cleaning leaves in the camera, and then reinstall the batteries. This clears most power-on problems, but if yours persists, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

SOURCE: Kodak Easyshare camera turns on and off

Yes you are. My wife denied that she dropped in the sand but I found a list of photos that she wanted to print on a post-it paper in the cover and it had sand all over the sticky part. Used the pressure air spray to clean the rings and it is back to life. Well It worked but there was some problem during zoom in&out, so I spray the rings while zooming and out and that cleaned it. I hope I don't have to open it to clean the mechanism. Thank you.

SOURCE: Hi... I have a Kodak EasyShare CD82 Digital

Sherry, have you tried to replace the battery of your camera? The recommended battery for your camera are the Ni-MH battery and the Alkaline battery. Now if you already using this type of battery and still your LCD screen is black its time for you to call Kodak at 1 800 235 6325 ext 12, it means that the LCD screen of the camera is already defective.

How long will the batters last on kodak m753 iv had the camera for 7 years

The battery life is quoted as 250-350 pictures in auto mode. This would be for a new battery and camera and it is likely that the number of recharging cycles on a 7 year life will have led to some deterioration in the battery life. Hello Barb, I am not sure if you are dealing with a bad battery or you are having problems with the camera, I would suggest trying a new battery as this is the cheapest route to take, then will will know for sure if it is battery related or a camera failure.

Kodak m753 camera will not turn on

Here are the steps for no power issues: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty) 3. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. My Kodak EasyShare M753 wont turn on at all, but when i tried charging it, it still wouldnt turn on. I have tried lots of different charging methods, like my USD port that came with the camera and my...

This problem is frequently due to corroded battery terminals inside the camera. Before you purchase new batteries, remove the batteries and wipe the terminals with a soft cloth (heavy corrosion may require a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue left in the camera by the cleaning. Clean the terminals on the batteries in the same manner, and then replace them in the camera. This cures most problems, but if it doesn't work for you, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/repair/troubleshooting/troubleshooting.jhtml?pq-path=6198

It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

Clean battery contacts. Use "small" flat had screw driver, and pry up "GENTLY" on battery contacts. Replace battery. Hit a few times with knuckle "NOT HARD" next to lens. Turn camera on. Camera will work forever.
