It sounds like your pretty well set with this system. How do you have it hooked up to and, what are you using for a monitor? Making sure your graphics are updated and properly updated sounds like a good place to start. You can get your most recent and latest updates from Nvidia here:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
You will need to uninstall the prior graphics before installing the new. you will enter:
Product Type: GeForce
Product Series: GeForce 8 Series
Product: GeForce 8200
Choose your operating system and language and click "search".
You do want to adjust your resolution to the max level that suits your needs. You want to make sure your connections and cables are good. If you are looking for performance, the cable can make a difference. Let me know how this works out.

How old is the system? Your basic games, of course, are less demanding then the higher end games and, the higher end games will demand more power also.

Have you try lowering the resolution?

Reinstall your Video drivers? or reinstall or reset the game?

Yeah I have done all that you have mentioned. Its the strangest thing. I can watch netflix movies with out a problem, you tube etc.etc... But go to game play and the frustration begins. Some games are really bad and flicker like crazy and some only certain levels of the game has this problem. I have all the same items and games downloaded that always worked before and no flickering. What gets me is this flickering started out very slowly and I mean slowly and only at certain times. Been going on a year now and it is never had a consistent pattern to when it does this.

My acer aspire m3641 just shows black screen

Is the computer booting? Fans spin? LED's blink? Sound? Have you tried another monitor? If so, check and reseat ALL cables. The specs indicate you have Integrated NVidia 7050 Graphics Adapter. You may need a aftermarket PCIe x16 Graphics Card to install in a open slot. Verify the cables are good and the monitor works on another computer first.

How do I get into safemode on my acer aspire desktop

1 Restart the Acer Aspire netbook by pressing the "power" button on the netbook's keyboard or by pressing the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys at the same time. 2 During startup, hold down the "F8" function key immediately when you see the "Acer" splash screen and the option for entering "Setup." 3 Keep pressing the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears. If you receive a "keyboard error," restart the Acer Aspire and repeat step 2. 4 Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Safe Mode" selection on the "Advanced Boot Options" menu. The arrow keys are located on the right-hand side of the Acer Aspire keyboard. 5 Press the "Enter" key to execute the "Safe Mode" selection. The Windows operating system will now start in "Safe Mode" and you can perform a system restore or make needed changes to get your Acer Aspire to boot normally again. Monitor is fine, but when attached to Acer Aspire M5641 Pc desktop, monitor shows no signal

That is probably due to the resolution set too high for the monitor. Try setting it to a resolution compatible so start at 800 X 600 and work up.
Hope that helps.

My desktop pc window is jumping up and down. cannot control curser or jumping. intermittent problem.

What do you mean you can't control the cursor? Sounds like two different problems to me. The jumping is more than likely your monitor taking a ****. Check the monitor plug to be sure it is tight. Explain the cursor problem more is it the mouse cursor that won't move?

Hi i've been using this laptop for over a year

If you can connect your VGA output to a regular desktop monitor and it works during the startup process, then it is probably you LCD screen. There is no way to know for sure that it is the backlight unless you replace it.
