Hello :-) I have a HP Ipaq 4350 and something similar like this happened to me. Except when I tried to take out the SD and put it in again the screen would go different colors and I would have to reset. But sometimes the SD will not get read because of the way you in and outsert it. Do you push down on the SD card and it will pop automatically or do you pull out the SD card. Because if you pull it out that might be your problem because if you DO pull it out it can damage the metals that read the SD card. Now If you do pull it out I'd recommend for you to insert the card and then pop it out and reset your device. If you do not pull it out you should go into the finder app on your Ipaq and see if that finder finds you SD card. If it does that means that your program is the problem and that its not fully compatible with your ppc or your specific SD card. Im sorry if this doesn't resolve your problem.
The only advice that I could offer is to try those 2 Compact Flash cards on someone elses PocketPC. If they don't work then there must be something wrong with the cards.
However, if they both work then there must be a problem with the CF slot on your Jornada. Try to test out some CF cards from an electronic store if they will let you.
Yes, you do not need drivers for CF cards. A preferred CF list? Whomever told you this is blowing you off.
People use all brands of CF cards from Viking, Scandisk, Lexar, Mr. Flash, etc. Sometimes there is a bad card and other times the CF slot is bad so check both of those out...
I don’t know why you PDA can not read your card but I found some infrmations about parts which are compatible with e800. As far as I know this types are compatible with e800.
Compact Flash Memory Card 1GB (PX1076E-1NME)
Compact Flash Memory Card 512MB (PX1075E-1NME)-Type I
Compact Flash Memory Card 256MB (PX1074E-1NME)-Type I
It is not easy to say what the problem can be. In my opinion you should contact the producer of this GPS receiver and ask them what the problem is. If this has been tested the producer must be able to help the users.
