Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
There are 4 small plastic gears in the top of the agitator that make it move. Pull on the top of the cover to remove it. Then there is a second cover inside. Pull that out and then remove a 7/16 inch bolt there. The whole agitator will pull out and you can acess the gears. Lots of little pieces in there so be gentle pulling it apart.
