Import your existing movie into Windows Movie Maker (WMM). If you wish, edit it. When you are ready to publish, WMM has pre-set compression settings for PDA. Once published, copy the file to your PDA memory card using a card reader or RAM using ActiveSync. Note that Windows Media 9 is buggy on VGD machines, and you may see your movie at 1/2 screen resolution you intend. There is no way to fix this. Instead, I recommend Beta Player as an alternative (and more powerful, if uglier) movie player. http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/download It is free. Download the Latest Stable Player.

I dont know how to put music on it

To put music on yourMP3 Player you will do this:
Download Windows Media Player 9 or 10 to your computer.
I would use Media Player 10 as it is the newer player.
After you download Media Player 9 or 10 open it up on your computer, and then hook up your mp3 player, it should be recognized by Media Player and then you can transfer the songs to it.
You need to put the music cd in your computer cd player and download the songs to Media Player using Windows Media Player 9 or 10.
Good Luck, I hope this helps.

Organize and transfer music and pictures with Windows Media Player11
4.1 About Windows Media Player 11
While your player will work with Windows Media Player 10, we suggest that you use
Windows Media Player 11 for a more enhanced media experience, both on the computer
and on your player.
Windows Media Player 11 is an all-in-one playback and recording program that lets you
play your CDs, rip CD tracks to your hard disk, transfer media files to your player, etc. This chapter describes the steps that you need to follow to successfully set up and transfer music and pictures to your player. For more information, see Windows Media Player Help on your computer or visit www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/default.mspx
Important: Make sure that you have installed the Windows Media Player 11 software provided in the accompanying CD for music and picture transfer.
Although Windows Media Player also lets you transfer video files from your computer
to the player, please use the MediaConverter for Philips provided in the accompanying
CD for video transfers. For more information regarding transfer of videos, see 3.6
Transfer video.
4.2.1 Add music and picture files to Windows Media Player library
By default, Windows Media Player automatically loads all the music and picture files
stored in your My Music and My Pictures folders into the library. If you add new files to
these folders, they will also be automatically added to the library.
Add music and picture files that are stored elsewhere on your computer or
computer network
1 Select Start > All Programs > Windows Media Player to launch Windows Media
Player program.
2 Click the down arrow beneath the Library tab and select Add to Library ...
3 Click <<Advanced Options to expand the dialog box.
4 Click Add...
> Add folder dialog box appears.
5 Select a folder in which you have kept your music or picture files and click OK.
6 Return to Add to library dialog box and click OK.
> Windows Media Player will start scanning the folder and add available music or picture files
to the library.
7 Click Close when done.

On the video setting on my camera, it wont let me record sound.. is there something wrong with the sound?

i think you have to connect your camera to a tv using the supplied audio/video cable just to hear the sound during the playback or transfer the videos to the computer's hard disk and open it using windows media player , any player you are using.

My GPX ML648B is not being recognized on any computer any longer

• The USB mode uses a file transfer class called the MSC (Mass Storage Class). This was developed as a way for files to be transferred onto an external drive such as a flash drive or an external hard drive.
• In this mode, your mp3 player will look and function like an external hard drive in that it will appear in My Computer as a separate drive. This transfer class is not very specific to the transfer of media files so the MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) was introduced.
• The difference with media files, specifically music files, is that they demand much more management.
• Downloading services can require special licensing and a limit on the number of playbacks a music file can have.
• The acquisition, restoration, updating, and backing up of these licenses as well as compatibility issues with file type and compression ratio within these digital music players demanded a more user-friendly and functional approach to file transfers.
• For this reason, you will need to have Windows Media Player 10 or 11 available on your computer to utilize MTP.
• Those with Windows Media Player 9 on their Windows 98 SE, Windows Millennium Edition, and Windows 2000 operating system will need to update using our Download Center.
• We recommend the use of MTP over MSC (the USB mode on your player) because it is more specific to the transfer of music files. To change this setting, press the power button on your device once it’s connected to the computer until the USB icon disappears.

Videos cannot be transferred to the PC (Windows XP)

Maybe you need a movie playback application that should be installed on your computer that supports the file format of the video from the camera. I believe the video file format from the camera is mpeg. You may try Quicktime player whick also works with Windows.

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/player/

Or you may try VLC Media Player.

Video Playback on a Everio GZ-MG57U

Sounds like you just need to upgrade your codecs. I use media player classic or VLC media player so I've never had these "not" play. Also another thing you will run into is the widescreen not showing properly when it does work. You have to convert the video to proper divx format with Xillisoft video converter in order for it to appear in 16:9 in all players. Makes the files 1/10 of the size too with little quality loss. Make sure you get the newest divx and xvid codecs, or a media player codec pack (easily found in google).
