I tried putting tape over the tab on the ad card and it still shows write protect on the 3DS. I did put sd card in my computer and was able to copy a song on it so now I am thinking its a problem with

So on an SD CARD, which uses a MMC Interface, the WP# Signal is an actualy physical line, which should indicate to the host (the DS or whatever), that the device cannot be written to.. Furthermore, the spec indicates that when the line is active, the device should NOT allow writes to the device.

So, given you've flipped it to non-write protect..and the device says it is..there's a couple of possibilities:

1) The device is damaged, and not able to pickup the fact the pin (those gold pads on the back of the SD card..) are I'm no write protected... so,, you might try some compressed air in the slow and clean out junk... OR

2) The device is damaged,,and somehow things your device has that line (signal) pulled a certain way... saying its write-protected.. again.. clear it out w/air..or its possibly damaged.

3) The SD card itself MAY be damaged..and before blowing air, or using alcohol to clean contacts..etc.. before you get crazy with it..try a different card.. Maybe it when through something to damage is tiny and fragile afterall...

4) If #3 doesn't work..and another device does the same thing.. try #1 and that...your device is broken :-(

Hello subodhkelana

1. Insert your SD card into your PC/Mac/external card reader/writer.
2. Open Windows Explorer (PC)/Finder (Mac), and select the drive being used by the card to open it.
3. Open another instance of Windows Explorer/Finder, and navigate to where your music is stored.
4. Highlight the desired file(s) and/or folder(s), copy them, and then paste them into the first instance of Windows Explorer/Finder to create copies on your card.

How do you download music on a dsi

Hello sherribaxley

As far as I know, there is no direct way to download music onto your DSi. In order to listen to songs on your DSi, you will first need to copy the songs you want to listen to onto a compatible SD or SDHC card. Not all songs are compatible with the DSi. Some songs may be copy protected and will not work. The DSi is compatible with AAC audio files with a filename extension of .m4a, .mp4, or .3gp.

- A compatible SD or SDHC Card. The DSi is compatible with SD cards up to 2 GB and SDHC cards up to 32 GB.
- Compatible music files stored on a PC or MAC.
- An SD Card slot in the PC or MAC, or an external reader/writer

1. Insert the card into the slot.
2. Open Windows Explorer (for PC) or Finder (for Mac) and select the drive being used by the card to open it.
3. Open another instance of Windows Explorer or Finder and navigate to where the music is stored.
4. Highlight the desired file(s) and/or folders, copy them, and then paste them into the first instance of Windows Explorer or Finder to create copies on the card.

If you need to convert the format of your music files, there are many freeware applications available to download on the web. I personally would suggest using iTunes, as it has a built in AAC converter.

Hope this helps. Please don't hesitate to contact me should you require any further assistance.

How to download songs from computer?

The new Nintendo DSi console can now play music, however it can only play AAC file type music, so if you have MP3 type, converting it is as easy as pie in iTunes. Also, once you have converted the songs, you need an SD card to store the songs in, and once done, you can put it in the DSi SD card slot and then play your music.
Hope this helps.

Memory card says ''not formatted''

maybe you are using 256mb mmc or is a common problem with n gage, it is not supported with a higher mb(because when it was made then, no 512mb and up available.).you can still open your fone without mmc,im sure it will work well..try to format your mmc using other nokia fone.(computer cannot do that). and dont go over the limit of your mmc.(man, do not install King of Fighters, your fone will not start..hope it helps.
