Have repaired under warranty.

Take it back to the store if you just bought it. If you've had it for a while, then look at the plug-ins. Are they all plugged in? If so, then something is wrong with the actual tv. Take it apart if you have to. Keep searching the internet for help. It's not like you're gonna have any tv-specials to watch for a while.

First thing to do is get the owner manual for each and start checking both settings and actual hookup---usually a surround system will work on all types of sets---when in doubt read the owner manuals.

If need either manual Google that model number with "manual" to try to locate it.

As far as the set goes it may require either a variable audio output source or in some cases the out to be a fixed level.

U can only use what resolution if is 720 put it there mydoes the same thing.

it sound like you did the right thing . The problem is the mac output for sound is bad or the TV input sound is bad.
try input a mp3 radio to the TV verify TV is working.
put an earphone to the mac to verify the mac out sound is working .
if both are working just tool around a little and you will get it. good luck

U have to use the Connector labeled RF-1 U have to screw the connector on. I had the same problem

Yes, its absolutely possible. You can connect external speakers from analog output of TV. Even you can use AV receivers available in the market which can be used to amplify OR process the tv sound with latest digital processing techniques, it would be very much pleasant than the sound from tv.

There is a problem with the AV2 input. Since this is a new set, return it for repair or exchange. DO NOT open it up as that would void the warranty.

Just talked to a fellow at Audiotronics regarding Sharp Aquos.
This is a widespread problem with audio on their TV's, The tech. said there may be a full recall regarding this problem!!!
