6-second on and 5-second off beeps from motherboard

My computer is beeping continuously with 6-sec on and 3-sec off beeps. I have PentiumIV and 512MB RAM.
I've tested by disconnecting all devices but hard disk and monitor. Still the problem persists.
What gone wrong with my system and what should I do to rectify it?
I'll be grateful to you if you can help me. Thanks.
Hopefully,
Rajendra Prasad.

Try different memory, this seems to be a common problem with those motherboards.

My computer beeps continuously every time i have it plugged in

Try this suggestion. Turn off your laptop, remove the cables and battery on the pc. Press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Then reinsert the cables and battery on the laptop and then turn on the pc. If it still continues to beep with no interruption, it is a problem on the motherboard. I suggest to call Acer and have your computer repaired immediately unless if you know how to reseat the motherboard by tearing down the laptop..

Consecutive beeps last 10 seconds, silence for 5 seconds, the long beep for 10 seconds...pattern repeats. Nothing comes on screen. I removed single RAM card, tried other slot, same problem. I powered it on...

how many beeps any breaks between beeps and then how many like 3 beeps then stops for 1 sec then beep beep beep stop beep beep beep check to make sure that your installing your memory sticks right and they are seated all the way make sure all cards are seated right all wires are not shorting out and a worst case your cpu is good

Beep: 6 seconds on, 3 seconds off

Pull all the cards out. Put in the CPU and fan, just one memory chip, the video card and the hard drive. Plug in just the power supply and the powerbutton switch to motherboard. Don't connect anything but the monitor, mouse and keyboard. If you still get beeps, try another memory chip (just one). I don't know the beep codes for your motherboard so we have to do this one step at a time.
