Question about Intel D101GGC Motherboard

No boot but a 5-second beep

I have D101GGC Motherboard. When I switch on my computer, it beeps with beep sounds durated 5-seconds as long as it is on. What might be the problem?

    no boot..
    continuous 3 second beeps... till the thing is powered off..
    mobo light's on..
    no clue whatsoever as to what could be wrong...
    had just installed a new SATA hard disk... went well for around a week till when this problem started...
    what could possibly have gone wrong

    ERr... i am having an issue like this as well, and it's not memory (does the same thing with NO ram in it) changed the psu as well... going to try another board.

Sounds like your memory is messed up, try some different memory in your PC.

No boot


The beeps are possibly post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk,and remains active untill turned off.

make sure that your RAM modules and Cmos battery are securely seated

on some motherboards Cmos batteries are soldered in


Test all power and data leads that attach from motherboard to your hard drive IDE SATA

make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

if its a flat 40 pin ide it will be the first to fail


check the graphics card is seated properly with no dust in the socket you might have to remove it to check for dust reinstall it

restart your computer the found new hardware wizard should activate

a computer needs power and data to travel through every working device and to its continue its cycle and to have and end to function

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd and floppy drive have secure make sure the connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
a computer needs all electric current and computer data to travel to and through every working device and have an end to work properly so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

also check the keyboard for secure dust free connection ps2 and or usb

I have a HP a6300f computer. It won't boot. Once I turn it on, it beeps for 17 seconds, is silent for 10 seconds, and follows by another beep for 17 seconds. I'm not sure what the problem is.


The duration and time of the beep codes is going to tell you what the problem is..

This is a problem with the memory or motherboard. Troubleshoot the RAM first by cleanning the contacts or replacing with a good one followed by the display card and then the motherboard.

G31TM-P21 normally boots with series of beeps. Now will not boot properly from CD start sequence (for reinstalling op system) and gives a short beep about every 5 seconds. No information found on MSI...

According to the sequence of beeps your getting from your computer, ther is a possibility that there is a problem with the memory module or RAM on your computer. Try reseating the memory then try to boot up again.

Is the beep a moderately high tone that lasts for about two seconds? If so, this is the firmware loading signal, which sounds only when the power button is held in on powerup. This would indicate that your power switch has a mechanical or electrical problem and is not releasing.
If this is not what you are hearing, please provide more detail.

Beeping with no boot up


Beep codes mean something has gone wrong with the computer. Beep codes most likely happen for: Memory, Processor, Motherboard.

Try reseating the memory in the computer.
