Have you tried to do a Hard Reset? If not, that might help.

Keep in mind, this will erase any personal information you have copied to your phone and will make it like new from the factory (other than fingerprints and scratches of course). You will need to enter all your personal information again. It will also wipe all pictures, music, videos, etc that you have on the phone.

If you still want to do this, then hold down the two 'Soft Keys' while inserting your stylus in the reset hole at the bottom of the phone. You should be prompted to hit the 'Send' key to restore or 'End' key to cancel. Go ahead and hit the 'Send' key. Wait for the phone to reboot, and you should be running again. If not, you may be looking at a hardware problem that will require it to be sent in for repairs.

The two 'Soft Keys are the two buttons just below your screen, I believe they normally say "Calendar" and "Contacts".

I want to configure my htc for gprs for internet browsing mtn nigeria

Hi,

In Nigeria, the gprssetting for internet browsing will be sent to you shortly after inserting your simcard in your phone.

But, if the setting was not send to you, call mtn customer care on 180. Or you go to any of MTN office in Nigeria and the setting will be given to you on your phone.

Regards.

1. Please remove the battery, sim chip, and power adapter 2. Wait 3 minutes, ensure the phone HAS COOLED OFF, then install the SIM CHIP, BATTERY, THEN POWER 3. DO NOT power up phone yet 4. Set the phone to charge for a least 15 minutes 5. Try to turn on your phone, if your still having problems, please return so I can continue helping you.

India HTC G1 phone -water damage.

try this :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.

SIM missing error

try inserting and removing of sim, do it 10-times for example and than try to turn it on, I had similar problem with my diamond and it helped, if it doesn't help, you can try it more times, if still problem continues, remove battery and try to clean your sim contacts with alcohol, keep them litttle bit wet and put it to device, then remove it, dry it and wait 15 minutes, put SIM and battery back and try tu turn device on. If it doesn't help, put it to service

Phone won't Turn On!!!

If just removing the battery dont work... Remove the sim and battery then put the battery back without the sim. Try hard reset now. Tmobile wanted to send me a new phone til I figured this out. They now have this solution in their tech notes.

My HTC p3300 battery not gettin charged. It works on direct power for some time and get automatically shutdown after some time..indicating no charge. Keeps shutting down often.

I too have been experiencing problems. Replaced the battery but it happened again. The battery says it is at almost 100% capacity however several times in the day, when I go to turn it on it doesn't respond. I end up taking the battery out and then have to connect it to a charger (USB) so that the charging light blinks red once and then turns off. I can then put in the battery again and it will start up again. If I don't connect it to the charger cable to drain (get the red light to flash once), and try just putting back in the battery, I've noticed that the screen has a faint glow as though it was on but the screen is completely blank. I'm starting to think that there must be a short circuit somewhere because I'm going to assume that the new battery is good.

Unresponsive start menu

Someones talking rubbish at you mate, all removing the internal battery will do is reset the clock (plus you will break the phone as its a pig..)
Depending what software is loaded all windows smart phones can be a bit slow just after start up as all the internal programs start up, and navigating menus is often slow to begin with as the first time in the handset cache's the pages and it will then speed up. but if its very unreliable....

Firstly try a hard reset, remove wait 10 seconds and replace the battery.
press and hold the two soft keys (the two buttons with a "-" each side of the navigation keys) while breafly pressing the power switch then follow the instructions. If it boots up as normal, remove the battery and try again.
NOTE this will remove all data and restore to the installed rom

If you still find that your having problems it may be that some one has flashed a flaky rom into it (eg if it has wm 6.1 on)

Register your handset on the club HTC website and get the most recent rom and re flash your handset, if it is still missbehaving after a re-flash it may be there is a problem that needs the attention of HTC, you can book your handset in here

if your feeling adventurous there are a selection of roms to choose from made by other s710 users (but this may be the root of your problem anyway.. ) as well as many other handy tips and tricks here

give me a shout if you get stuck
Best of Luck

Pasword reset

if you mean the phones password the only way is a hard reset, remove wait 10 seconds and replace the battery. If you mean the sim password/Pin contact your service provider (company who supply your sim)

Hard reset
press and hold the two soft keys (the two buttons with a "-" each side of the navigation keys) while breafly pressing the power switch then follow the instructions. If it boots up as normal, remove the battery and try again.

NOTE this will remove all data and restore to the installed rom
