Use a firewire cable to connect your camera to your Mac. Have your camera at the place you want to start copying and put it in play back mode. Open iMovie in your Mac. In the iMovie window, move the little blue button to the left (to the camera icon). Then click the Import button at the bottom of your picture. If you haven't used iMovie before play around with it. It's a great movie editing program.
Good luck!

I have the sony DCR-HC26E handy cam i'm trying to connect it with my pc (windows 7) by using usb cable it wont work my pc doesn't recognise my camera ....thanks

USB connection will allow still photos ONLY to be capture to a computer. To capture the footage from the tape you will have to connect with a firewire cable, also called iLink or IEEE1394a. Windows Movie Maker will be one program that can capture the footage.

I have a sony handycam dcr-pc101 ntsc and I am trying to connect it to my Mac, but the computer will not recognize the movie camera. (I have it connected through the firewire connection- not the usb port)

I'm osrry that you find difficulty in transfering the videos to the macintosh computer. Refer the URL for the infirmation on Transfering video to a Mac computer

http://support.sony-europe.com/tutorials/dime/videotransfer/vtransfer.aspx?site=odw_en_GB&sec=DV&m=DCR-PC101E

NOTE: The procedure to transfer video to a computer will vary depending on the type of camcorder you have and the type of connection you are using.

Sony dcr-pc101e c31-22 is flashing and camera wont work

Hi, not sure if C31:22 is the same or similar as the error code C31:23, but I had C31:23 and seem to have fixed it....for now. after trying all types of battery removals, the thing that fixed it was:

eject the tape
Gently wiggle (with your finger) the black roller with the thin white tube as its spindle
Pressed reset button
re-installed the tape

The error disappeared and has not been seen since.
