The two small clasps that hold this compartment shut have broken. I now have it taped shut.

My Optio 450 has the same type of cover and I am surprised how tough the cover is. I thought it would have broken by now. I suggest a call to Pentax would answer your question about getting it fixed. Alternatively, just leave it. The Plastic hinge should keep it closed

Can battery compartment be repaired when tabs are broken off which hold lid down?

possibly...if it is the body where the tabs are broken off the manufacturer (Olympus) might be able to replace the body shell. I'd check with them.

I can't keep the battery door cover closed on my Nikon coolpix digital camera L.22

I see this message at least 3 times, so it must be important.
Looks like a mechanical problem. But not having the camera in my own hands I have to do some educated guesses.
Could be something broke off. Could be a small chip of plastic or a very small piece of metal. Difficult to repair it yourself. But you also could look if there is something in the battery compartment that should not be there. Could be just a little bit of debris, that is lifting the battery, (not if the battery is behind the lock) or debris in the door, so you can't close the battery compartment complete, and it can't be locked.
If you can't find anything and it looks as if the battery compartment closes correct, and still you only can't lock the door, please visit your dealer or the Nikon service centre closest to you.

Find the cmoss battery d505

Unplug the Dell Latitude D505 laptop from AC power. Turn over the so that the base of the computer faces upward. Locate the battery panel on the bottom of the computer and then press the latch on the battery panel in the direction of the arrow on the latch. Lift the battery from the battery compartment.

Press on the latch located toward the front of the computer inside the battery compartment. Pull the cover that is released out and down and remove the cover from the battery compartment.

Grasp the small battery in the slot uncovered when the cover was removed and pull the battery away from the slot to detach the battery from the laptop

I cant open the remote to put the battery in it shows an qarrow and says slide, but it wont move

Hi there,

Most remote control battery covers open in the same manner, although it will say slide in the direction of the arrow it will also require a small amount of downward pressure on the battery cover as well usually at the top end of the cover ( If you hold the remote with the arrow facing from you it will be the nearest end of the cover to you ). This is because on the underside of the cover there will be one or two small hooked clasps moulded into the cover that lock the cover into position the the remote control stopping it from just slipping it off and getting lost. The downward pressure on the battery cover disengages the clasps below the body of the remote, allowing the cover to then slide free giving you access to the battery compartment.

Hope this helps,

I have Fujifilm Finepix S1000. The battery door does not close. Is there a place on-line I can purchase a battery door? Thank you.

I know this is an old question, but when I had this problem I came across several forums that had the "tape it" or "drill a hole and screw it shut" solutions. Some even gave step by step instructions on taking the camera apart and replacing the battery compartment with one from a camera bought for parts. I even contacted Fujifilm for an estimate. All were either expensive, ineffective or damaging. The solution I came up with was to go to the Camera Exchange and buy a Quick Release plate used for tripods. One that was long enough to cover the battery door. It screws into the tripod mount on the back and holds the door closed. No damage, no hole drilling and it works. Also only cost me $8. Win!

The orange plastic clip that holds in the battery broke.

use some tape, or put a piece of something on top of the battery, when you close the battery door and latch it, it should hold the battery in place. That orange clip just holds the battery low enough that it comes in contact with the terminals at the bottom of the compartment.
Hope this helps

I have a Fuji FinePix S5000 and the battery door catches (on the body of the camera) have broken off. Replace complete body assy??? I am sure mine is not the only one. any help appreciated.

I had this problem also (see below).

After getting poor results with the duct tape solution, I discovered another work-around. This should work whether it is chipped lugs on the door or on the body.

Firstly I used an old camera flash bracket that screws into the tripod socket, and this holds the battery door in place quite securely. However it was too long, so I cut and filed a piece of aluminium 25mm (1") wide by 2.5mm thick to the right length (around 100mm/4") and shape, and made a hole for the bracket screw.

End result is not exactly like new, but more functional than the duct tape and does not further damage the actual camera:

I'm having the same problem with my DSC-W1 camera. I dropped my camera and the battery door latches broke.
I found a replacement door on Ebay for $9.95
I followed the instructions in the description and easily removed the broken door from my camera. Now i'm just waiting on the new door to arrive so I could slide the new door in.
I hope this was helpful.

Here's the seller I bought the door from. Hopefully the seller has more doors. =) :

In addtion, I found the last two posts on this forum very helpful:

Good Luck! =)
