There are two ways to do this. 1st. Using the recovery partition already installed on your hard drive. 2nd. Creating recovery disc by launching the recovery disc creator. It is highly recommended that when purchasing a new computer a set of recovery discs be may as a factory back up in case your hard drive fails. You should make your recovery discs first. That will require at least 3 DVD blanks. Tell you what, you make the discs first and I'll explain how to use both methods. Click your start button and find a folder called maintenance. The location and name of the folder varies by each computer manufacture as to where they file the recovery disc creator program. I believe It's in the maintenance folder. How do I download or get gateways 500 gr recovery disc ? I need everything reistalled


To start the systemrecovery:
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Computer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
  3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
  4. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available orfails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Media. Ifyou do not have a set of Recovery Media, you may purchase the set onlinefrom the manufacturer. Note: If your computer does not havean internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will be requiredin order to recover the Operating System using Recovery Media.
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the computer logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the computer's Boot Menu.
  3. Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD.
  4. Close the CD-ROM tray.
  5. Refer to on screen instructions to select either CDROM or USB CDROM.
  6. The computer will boot from the Recovery Media
  7. When prompted for the Recovery CD, remove the System CD and insert the Recovery CD.
Note: Ifthere are multiple Recovery CDs, please insert the first of the Recovery CDs.
  1. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.

I have a Acer aspire desktop computer m1100 and when I bought it did not come with a recovery disk and I did not make the cd because I was unaware of how to do it. Now the computer will not boot with out a...


by default the hard drive should have a recovery partition. go to the support section of the manufactures website and you should find detailed instructions of how to boot to the partition. if that option has been corrupted, you can purchase a recovery disc directly from acer. i've ordered nearly a hundred for customers in the past and have never paid more than 20.00 for a disc or disc set.

Is there a system recovery disk for the emachine ET1161-07 desktop pc?


If you bought the computer new and did not receive a recovery disc with it then the recovery software can be reinstalled from a hidden drive built into the computer.
The steps for re-installation:

  • Restart the computer
  • When the eMachines logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
  • When prompted with a boot screen, hit the Enter key.
  • After the system recovery program has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the operating system.

If you bought the computer used try the above method. If that fails then it came with a recovery disc but you didn't get it with the computer. The only thing you can do is contact eMachines support for help or purchase a new copy of Windows and reinstall it with that.

unfortunately, the only way to restore the system is to recover or make a fresh install. one requires recovery discs , the other a LICENSED copy of windows (then download your drivers here:

Sr1750nx xp/media edition..lost recovery disc in my move


Some programs that will help you do a recovery disk is Norton Ghost, Acronis, and some others.
I recomend you to use Norton Ghost thou that one is very easy to use.

NOTE: Most HP and Compaq desktop PCs that ship with Windows Vista and XP do not come with recovery discs. Instead, they use a hidden space (partition) on the hard drive to store the recovery information. Using a hidden partition provides a convenient, more stable recovery solution.
Step 1: Create a set of recovery discs or a recovery DVD
To create the recovery disc set, Click Start , All Programs , PC Help & Tools (or similar), open the HP or Compaq Recovery CD-DVD Creation software, and follow the on-screen directions.
If you cannot create recovery discs or your discs have become damaged, continue to the next step.
Step 2: Order recovery CDs on the Web
If you are not able to create a set of recovery discs, you may be able to order a set of replacement discs from HP. HP maintains a stock of replacement recovery discs for several years after the product has been released. However, because of licensing restrictions, HP is only able to provide these recovery discs for a limited time. If your computer is several years past its warranty period, HP may not be able to supply replacement discs for your computer. If this is the case, you can install a new operating system that meets the minimum system requirements of your computer, or, alternatively, upgrade your computer hardware.
To find out if HP has recovery discs that you can order and to order them from HP, use the following steps:
NOTE: The steps in this section apply to United States and Canada. RECOVERY DISC ALONG WITH UP GRADE IF POSSIBLE


if you dont have the recovery disc for your computer, you will need to purchase a new windows installer, ones it is installed just download the drivers from the manufacturer website.
