As far as I know it is not easy to do because the hardware is bundled with the software. How did your friend make it? As far as I know it is not possible to order it from service partner. Check also Toshiba site and see what you can find in download area. http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

Hi.

To install a different language - Multilingual User Interface (MUI) - you need to have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate
Type Anytime Upgrade in the Search programs and files box in the Start menu and click on the Windows Anytime Upgrade icon. From there, you can buy an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. Then your can enter your Anytime Upgrade product key and perform a simple upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate so you can install a different language.

If you are in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US you can use Anytime Upgrade. If not you will need to buy Windows 7 Ultimate, or buy Windows 7 in the language you need.

Install Language Pack in Windows 7 Ultimate

1. Start -> All Programs --> Windows Update --> Optional Updates.
2. Open optional Updates and go to the section Windows 7 Language Packs.
3. Tick the Language Pack you want and hit OK
4. Proceed with Install Updates
5. Depiction of Windows 7 downloading a Language Pack
6. Automatic install initiated after download

How to change the Windows 7 Display Language:

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Clock, Language, and Region / Change the display language
2. Switch the display language in the Choose a display language dropdown menu.
3. Click OK
4. Log off for the changes to take effect (This will affect only the user profile under which you are currently logged on).

The only other way to get the English language is to use the recovery partition or recovery disk to start over from scratch.

If there is anything else please post back..

Good luck.

After hard set,it still stays in french.

Welcome to Fixya!

In first boot after the hard reset it should ask you to select your language. If it's a Canadian model it should have both English and French built-in.

Ram!

Please confirm first with other user what I will suggest to you. It may "may" be possible for you to get your 565 working with another language by using the French PPC2002 as they are many languages offered. One thing, I have no idea if it would really work, if the update will agree to install itself even if it up-to-date. Many different possible impossibilities, I'm wondering if this could be a solution for you. Do not update to a another language without confirmation that it can be done without causing subsequent problems.

Windows Mobile 2003 SE Kernel ROM update error

I have already updated my e800 with Windows Mobile 2003 SE. I have had just a small communication problem between the notebook and PDA but there was no problem with update installation itself. If no one can help you try to contact hotline or service partner in your country. I hope that they can give you a proper answer why this error occurs.
