an eq is kind of like an amplifier anyway it boost the sound and tailors the sound to your taste. Your eq should have a wiring diagram on the bottom or top of the unit. Your factory radio should have a wiring diagram on top or bottom of it as well. So all you have to do is match left + to left + and right + to right + etc. It's really easier than you think. You just have to pay close attention to the diagrams.
Here is a diagram on how to wire your 3 toggle setup.
There are endless variations on how to do it. Pickups can be switched in and out of phase, in parallel or series.
Check out here for more details on the above wiring diagram.
Strat style wiring is done with a 5 way switch generally. Using the toggles allows you to rephase vitually all the pickups getting heaps of different tones. Thanks for using FixYa, good luck. Make shure your speaker wiring is solid hookup to amp and spekers (NO CROSSED WIRING). Also make shure speakers are not wired in parallel or the speaker impeadance will be to low and amp will kick out.Turn speakers off then hook up headphones and crank up volume then see if amp kicks out.If it does you have an internal overload and needs serviced. If it playes ok then you must have speaker problems or wiring.
