Sansa won't turn on after using an ipod "road trip" fm transmitter

I charged my sansa e200 with my regular charger. I used it 20 minutes battery showed full and it worked fine. I had a friend give me an ipod "Road trip" Charger/FM transmitter I figured since the port on the bottom of the sansa looked the same I docked it to play through my car radio and nothing turned on. I disconnected the Sansa and tried to turn it on but nothing lit up at all. So I tried holding down the button to reset the Sansa and nothing. I checked it 30 minutes later and it felt really warm underneath and still wouldn't reset. Help please!!! I hope it didn't damage the Sansa. Any ideas?

The reason you are having problems is that Sansa MP3 players WERE NOT designed for iPod products. The port may look the same, but it could totally screw up your Sansa and the iHome device you're using.

Kinda the same thing happened to me. I tried to plug my sansa into my friends iHome and it blew out one of his speakers and screwed up my sansa, which was an e270.

Battery wont recharge-

Below are some things to check for when charging your Sansa player:
USB Cable Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable that came with your player. Make sure the computer isn't entering hibernation or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be ON in order to charge your player. USB Port 2.0 Make sure the player is connected to a USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems). USB Port location Try plugging into different USB ports (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); occasionally the front USB ports have limited power to charge up the device. Battery Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery. Latest firmware Depending on what Sansa player you have, make sure it's up to date with the latest firmware. AC charger (optional) AC chargers (sold separately) have a 500-1000 milliamp max output, which provides much better charging ability than a USB port. These accessories are available on our online store.
To Remove the Battery... 1. Remove the back on the e200 by removing the 4 screws. 2. Lift off the back by using a finger nail or a small flat head screw driver. It will not take a lot of force to remove. NOTE: When replacing the e200 battery be sure that the contacts on the battery line up with the contacts on the player. 3. The battery has three gold contacts on one end of the battery, which is near the words SanDisk Sansa. Be sure these contacts match up with the three gold contacts on the back of the player. 4. Lightly push the lined up battery up against the contacts of the player until the bottom end of the battery can be pushed into place. 5. Replace the lid to the back of the player and then plug the player into the computer using the Sansa cable. 6. Once the player has connected to the computer and is ready to be used or says "Connected", unplug the device.
NOTE: If the device goes directly to a black screen after unplugging it, then the battery has been replaced incorrectly. Take the back off the player once again and flip the battery around and the e200 device should work properly.

Will the sansa clip play through my car sterio fm station?

The Sansa itself won't, lacking an FM transmitter. You can buy such devices at just about any department store, however. Most of them draw power through the car's cigarette lighter, and some can even power/charge the Sansa. Make sure you get one that isn't exclusively designed for an iPod, as the power connector on the Sansa is not compatible with that on the iPod. The headphone jack is, of course, universal, and that's where the sound comes out.

PDF how to use recovery tool

Answer The power may be depleted fully or the Connect might be hung during boot. Charge the Connect for at least 20 minutes using the AC charger. If the Connect will not turn on after 20 minutes charging with the AC charger, you can then try using the Connect Recovery Tool.

The recovery tool will reformat and reload the latest firmware to the Connect. The tool and instructions are located here.

Note: Ensure the Connect is turned off by holding the power button 8-10 seconds before initiating the recovery sequence.

Explanation:
The e200 can operated under two different modes, MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode and MSC (Mass Storage Class) mode.

To see the MicroSD card as a Removable Disk, the e200 must be in MSC mode. The following screen shots show how the "My Computer" screen will look when the device is plugged in under each mode.

I found that Best Buy has an MP3 help line number, they were very helpful and solved the problem quickly. The solution was to hold the menu button for 20 seconds, this resets the program and the sansa turned on automatically.

Ipod charger

1 question: how did you do that? i thought the Ipod and the sansa have different adapter types? anyway, i'd suggest getting a new battery. and it's probably because the sansa and ipod use don't use the same amount of energy (volts, etc.) that this happened.
