What steps will be done in order for me to reformat my computer?

1) All computer has BIOS ( Basic input/output system). Here, you can set up how your PC will run. It is a blue colored full screen with different tabs like general, exit, devices and many more. Go to BIOS by simply hitting del (delete) continuously after restarting your computer.

2) Once in BIOS, look for the booting set up. Listed there are the devices which computer normally boots. ( Harddisk, CD-rom, Floopy Disk and Network)

3) Place the CD-Rom as the first boot and see to it that the bootable CD of Operating system you want is inserted in the CD-Rom. Then Place harddisk as the second booting device. Third and fourth booting devices are not usually important.

4) Save the changes and Exit. This will restart your computer automatically.

5) When your computer restarts wait until you see a message saying.........
Boot to CD........<----if this showed up hit any key to boot to CD. This will make your computer refer to the CD.

6) They will ask you if you want to delete or to create a new partition. For me just delete the partition and do not create anymore partitions. This will only slows your computer down.

7) After Deleting the partitions, they will ask you if you wanted to format you PC. There are 4 choices in there:

a. Quick format (FAT)
b. Format (FAT)
c. Quick format (NTSF)
d. Format (NTSF)

Choose the format either NTSF or FAT. Sometimes quick formatting result to corruption of some files.

8) The computer will copy the contents needed from the CD to your PC and installs it. Windows will appear but i know when you see one you can understand what to do. It will just ask for date and time and user name if you want to.

9) After the installation is complete the computer will automatically restart.

10) Once restarted, set the display in your choice. You can do anything now. Congratulations, you now can reformat

I want to install win7premium32-bit to my pc

It requires at least 2 gb ram and c2 duo or higher. Be sure you have that min with your pc. next you need windows cd. insert it int drive and press F3 or any key to boot with cd. It's then very simple just do as pc says. In format using type choose NTFS next just proceed as directed and you are done.

hello

it sounds like you need to order the CD recovery set from Dell (cost about $50). Once you receive the recovery Cds, start up system, insert the CD and press F2 to override the start up to repair files. Once you get to the screen (F2), select "boot from CD", press ENTER, and the system should get you into restore to factory default (FORMAT DRIVE) . From here on , you can format the drive and reisntall the OS . It will prompt you to insert the MULTIMEDIA CD . This will allow you to restore to original factory setting.

please issue 4 thumbs up so i can remain available to you.

I was told to format pc cuz it only turns on for a few seconds,

Formating the pc doesn't flash your bios , to flash your bios determine which bios you have and download the new firmware for it , the new firmware will flash your bios and update it

tell me by the way why you want to flash your bios ???

I try to setup for formatting, i turn off the pc, then i inserted the CDROM then, after i tried to run the pc again, but it will only turn on lights and fan for 2 seconds then out i tried removing the cd...

sounds like a motherboard problem. try to disconnect the data and power cables to the hard disk, CD/DVD drive, then remove and re-install the memory, then remove all expansion cards like graphics card, then attempt to power on the pc. if this works, reconnect the cables to the hard disk, then test the system. repeat the same process starting with the CD/DVD drive cables, and then the expansion cards testing the system each time. if a specific device or component is causing the issue, try to use a spare for it and if it works, that part has to be replaced. If all else fails, replace motherboard.

New ASUS A8V-MX motherboard will not boot to CD or HD with XP

The first thing is to make sure that your CD/DVD drive has the windows disk in it. Also check drive C which is where the windows will be installed. It may require that it is hard formated. Hard formatted means "format x /u" [format-space-drive to be formatted-space-right slash-u]. This will place the drive for "windows xp sp2", all of it, to one pass of zeroes. So, once we have a clean drive C and the installation disc is inserted into the CD/DVD drive, you may proceed to install. You will need to find "install" or "setup" and start it on he "RUN" mode. I bought used d600 and need to format it

hi,
you can do the following.

D drive can be formatted from windows itself. open my computer. right click and click format and follow instructions.

But C cannot be formatted from windows as it contains files that would be in use.To format C insert the windows(OS) CD and restart. change boot option. this can be done by pressing F4 or F8 while the system starts. now cahnge boot device to cd. now follow the instructions to load the OS(windows) and install it in C. Select quick format or format and you are done. All previous data and the OS would be deleted and the drive would be formatted and the new OS would be installed. If You want to keep your previous files, select keep files system intact while the procedure is being run.
