What if you change it to print from the other tray.

It sounds like one of the two springs are damaged underneath the machine causing it not to lift.

i would look underneath and inspect the springs

hope this helps

I found that the problem is a office 2007 problem as the problem goes away with either wordpad or with test page print. Looks like either the office 2007 has a bug or the canon driver is not compatible with office 2007. I hate 2007 version anyway. Wish they would just fix the bugs in office 97. i post the fix when I find out which it is.>>> SUCROMATIC

I went to office 2007 and selected word. Then I selected a document and then select print and then print again and then properties and changed paper source option from paper feed switch to cassette and then Ok. Next I set the paper source option back to paper feed switch and it works with office 2007. Looks like a problem with the way office 2007 interprets the paper feed switch. >>>SUCROMATIC

Another way to workaround this problem is to highlight the body of the document and paste it into a new office document. Apparently there is some hidden formatting codes in word that screws up the paper feed signal. I had a document that did the same thing and I patiently copied and pasted one page at a time into a new word document. I noticed the imbedded tables and lines in the original were bigger when pasted into a new document. This conversion happens when word prints. The document is modified to suit the print driver. Word often fails to correctly convert scaling and then it ends up sending extra **** that screws up the paper feed among other things.

I am getting a "fax output error - cassette." It

Hi,

Pretty sure your paper tray button is set to get paper from the bottom paper cassette which is the tray that slides into the bottom of the printer.

If you switch the paper tray selection button* to use the rear feed tray you'll probably find it will print faxes successfully or you can put paper in the cassette tray...

*The paper tray selection button is just under (and slightly right of) the "Memory Card" button and has an icon image of the printer with two LED's (top and bottom). These lights indicate which of the trays is currently selected...

Hope that helps.

We have a printer (MX870) that keeps giving us an error stating: there is no paper. There is paper in it but we cannot get it to print...it continues to give us the same error

From the service manual about the paper issue this is what it says:

***Rear tray. There is no paper. Load paper and press [OK].

Confirm that the rear tray is selected as the paper source. Set the paper in the rear tray, and press the OK button.

***Cassette. There is no paper. Load paper and press [OK].

Confirm that the cassette is selected as the paper source. Set the paper in the cassette,
and press the OK button.

Hopefully its just a setting on the printer or the computers printer properties.

Best of luck..

MP830 Error 6A00 Error Code Alarm Flashing and Copy button Flashing. Does not respond to unplugging or turning off and back on.

6A00 means the purge assembly is jammed. That's the unit that cleans the printhead. Sometimes it will last a while when cleaned, but I just replace them.
QM2-3032-000 about $20.00 but much easier at a shop.

Canon MX850 - paper feed

Look carefully because it is a cassette on the bottom of your canon mx850... so the solution is: or you fill that cassette or you switch your canon (it is a button for that) to take the paper from the top...

Canon MP600 all-in-one printer.Out of paper?

Try this:
Go into the driver toolbox under printing preferences and select auto
continuous feed from the paper source dropdown box.

Both trays should be of the same size paper and type for this to work.
