Printer too slow

My printer is printing like at snail pace. It barely moves it will print one line and it takes about 15 minutes to print it. What could be wrong with it.

I doubt it's the driver. I have the same problem and the printer is not even hooked up to the computer. More than likely just shoddy construction... I would be surprised if it is fixable. Guess I'll go out back and pick some bills off of my money tree and buy another.

My printer was printing slow, like one line a minute. I tried connecting to different computers -- same situation. Then I totally disconnected and tried printing a test page -- same problem. Turned out it really was the color ink cartridge. I had recently put in a new black cartridge but the color had been in for a while. After replacing the black nothing changed, after replacing the color all was fixed. So you can believe the above posting :)

Never mind my pessimism. I saw another solution on this site and lo and behold it works!.

Take out your color cartridge. It's the cartridge that is the problem. Not the printer.

Have you selected a different mode in your printing properties?
if yes you can deselect the print quality back to normal under printing preferences, selecting to maximum will cause the printer to print on slower pace but with better resolution and quality

Sounds like you might have the wrong, or old drivers loaded.
Go to the HP site and download and install the latest drivers for your printer.

I have a 2410 HP printer and it prints very very very slow. Can you help me? Email address pretty111comcast.net

I have the exact same model of printer, I find that it prints faster if you go into printing preferences and change the print quality to fast draft or fast normal. You can also set the printer directly by pressingcopy twice then press3 for copy quality, then select 3 for fast.
Doing both should produce faster printing for your documents. (NOTE : This will not suggested if you are printiing items that need to have crisp clean printing as the faster it prints the less detailed the printing is.)

Why does my printer prints a few pages and it slows down to a snail pace

The cause and solution may include one or more of the following:
  • The print head temperature is too high. Make sure the printer is not placed in direct sunlight or is not operating in a high-temperature environment.
  • Cooling vents are blocked or dirty. Check the cooling vents and clear any dirt or obstructions.
  • There are too many applications running on your computer. Close unnecessary software applications.
  • The computer is not running efficiently. Consider upgrading your computer to meet the recommended system requirements.

NOTE: When printing a large number of prints, printing may slow down to prevent the print head from overheating.
See your printer user,s guide for more information.

The printing speed slowed to a snail pace. I pressed Setup, 2, and then 6 to print a self-test report. I got a a "cartridge error" message. Then I removed both cartridges and cleaned them. Still...

This is caused by the failure of one of your cartridges. Remove the black cartridge and print a test page. Does the printer print at normal speed? Is so the black cartridge was the issue and should be replaced. If not then put the black cartridge back in and remove the color cartridge and print test page. If the printer now prints normal speed the color cartridge was at fault and needs to be replaced.

My hp 6110 printer is printing at the pace of a cripppled snail.

What resolution are you printing at? There is a setting on the printer itself that you can hit for instant copies or when you select print setup from the computer, go to the printer preferences and you can set the quality of the print from that window.
