The lcd monitor needs to be replaced already since you tried it in another computer and it has the same problem. make sure also that the cables are working properly.. you can also try to use another vga cable.

Problem with the monitor

hi,

first of all,try to connect the cable to other device(laptop) to see if is working, because if you receive the message"No signal" then the monitor is working but the cable/signal did not cross to the monitor, then is working with other device then try again or check if you can connect the monitor with different port if you monitor has one vga/dvi or hdmi.

If is possible we need to establish if the monitor is defective or not. Please connect to a different monitor/LCD TVscreen or just unplug the monitors data cable from the back of the computer powered it up and check if is giving you a message on the screen as "No signal detected". It will tell you that the monitor is fine and is a problem with your Dell computer.

It sounds like the backlight is failing. You may be able to prove this by shining a light across the panel and looking very closely to see if the display is actually still there, just not being lit. If this is the case it can be the backlight or the inverter. You may be able to hook up an external monitor to it and prove that it is a problem with the lcd display and not the graphics adapter but your description is common for a failing LCD/inverter.

Please rate this solution if it has helped you.

Black screen on my Acer 203wbd monitor. Keep getting No Signal message. Have checked all connections.

Try another monitor on your computer. If you get video with another monitor then you know that your original monitor is bad. If you don't get video with another monitor then you know its something with the computer.

If the computer is the problem. Try reseating the memory and CPU. and also make sure the computer has no dust or dirt in it. If you still can't get no video then the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

LCD MoNITOR no Signal

The problem lies with your video card. The fact that it worked on your friends computer proves that it is not your monitor. Some motherboards have two video adapters. One on a video card and one on the motherboard. You need to open your PC case and see if you have one or two. If you have two then you can try the other one. Otherwise, replacing the video card will correct it. However, if the only video adapter is the one connected to your motherboard then the motherboard has to be replaced. If you have any questions let me know.

§ Plug all the cables back.
§ Turn it on.
