MOTOROLA V3XX SEARCHING FOR NETWORK

I put my old main board in a new motorola v3xx housing because I broke the old one. Everything works except it can't connect to a network. It was an att phone that I broke, I think the housing was att as well. As it powers on it says att and my phone number comes up. any suggestions

I know this might be a stupid question, but did you include the antenna when you transfered main board?

Also, when you broke your old phone, was it moisture or impact related? You could have caused a hairline crack in the IC board or a cold solder break in the RF.

It's not possible as the two networks are not compatible with each other for the V3xx. With other phones it may be as easy as swapping SIM cards.

Cant pick up a network, it keeps searching

If it is continueing to search for a network. Wanna make sure you have the correct simcard for the carrier in your phone. And it is in the phone correctly. Maybe the phone is NOT completely unlocked. If that all works, check your network in the phone.
  1. At the main screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Network.
  4. Scroll to and select Network Setup.
  5. Scroll to Type and select Change.
  6. Scroll to and select AUTOMATIC
SAVE. Besure once a day to power down the for about 10-20 seconds a day.

After getting Motorola V3xx wet and drying for several weeks, everything works EXCEPT the center Select button. Can use "Select" when offered, but usually only options appear that have nothing...

you need to take the phone and have the flexcable replaced and still have the phone service to remove any further moisture that may have been still inside the main board on the phone.
