Sony playstation2 slimline, problem withthe game ''godofwar''
my sony ps2slimline plays well , except for ''god of war''.The game starts well at the beginning ,and can be played for a while. But
later on the game gets stuck at a place and shows the sign ''loading''.
Even if i start the game from first the game gets stuck at the same
place and shows the same sign.

actually i also encountered such before. There are lots of games I copied from a friend which are not playing at all. Or which my psp does not read. All I did was press SELECT while on the home menu. Then a special options will appear. It's the M33 VSH MENU (Well, at least that's how mine reads.) Anyway, move to the UMD ISO MODE and press the left and right buttons until you get to choose Sony NP9660 and try playing gods of war now on your unit. There....hope I helped.!
Hi there. Are the older games you're trying to play CD games ? They might be :) The laser lens in such consoles can be fried on the dvd part, but still read CD's. Have you tried, to read a DVD Movie in it ? I bet it doesn't work either.
The slimlines are infamous for laser burnout, and god they're quick to burn. You can try to clean your laser lens with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol, but i'd say you're already out of luck.
The optical lens is quite easy to replace in those units. They can be found on ebay and on various websites for 20$, and if you can play a bit with a phillips screwdriver, chances you'll be able to replace it yourself with a bit of patience are good enough.
If you need additional help just ask, hope that helps ! cheebster.
