Question about HP iPAQ RX3715 Pocket PC

1 Answer

Hanging Hello All, Having only had my Ipaq for six months it decided to die on me! It seems to hang every time I turn it on. It will go through the stage of loading up the blue bar, however 3/4 of the way through the screen/unit will switch off and fade out, sometimes the blue bar will complete its path but hang at this point! This happens with the battery in and not connected, but also when connectedo the sync cable - sigh. I have tried soft resets and even hard resets, both with no results. Can anyone shed some light or even a solution? I'd be most grateful. Best Wishes,

Re: Hanging

Do you think you could provoke a hard reset by leaving the battery out overnight?

IPAQ 4700 hard resetting on its own.

I also own an ipaq 4700 and experienced the same problem. Even after reloading the OS I continued to have this problem. I did buy it refurbished but I fear this may be a common hardware problem. From my research it would appear the battery is the most likely culprit, I have not tried replacing mine but it may be worth a shot, if nothing else you have an extra battery which means less time at the charger :D

My HP Ipaq 6915 goes off at 60% battery level or when i try to connect to wi fi, and switch off my bluetooth. At 85% battery power level i cant make or receive calls. It just loses network connectivity,...

Hello,

The batteries from Ebay that are from China have lots of issues. I use an HP 6945 phone/pda and had the same issue with my original battery. I tried a cheap battery and it died within 2 months. I ordered an HP original battery and have been using it again full strength for 7 months. The new battery works bluetooth, wi-fi and gps as well as phone down to about 15% before I recharge. The HP batteries are more expensive but they are worth the extra price.

Software is hanging it seems, take the battery out (and the charger as well, of course) count to 30 and re-insert, then try again...and hope it does not keep hanging like this.

Battery issue

I THINK IT TO BE THE PROBLEM OF BATTERY. COZ IF U LEAVE UR BATTERY FOR A LONG TIME WITHOUT CHARGING IT IN REGULAR INTERVALS, THE BATTERY NORMALLY GOES OUT AND DIES. IT MAY BE UR PROBLEM. SO JUST REPLACE A NEW BATTERY AND CHARGE IT AT LEAST FOR 8 HOURS FOR THE FIRST TIME AND THEN ON THE IPAQ. IT MIGHT BRING A SMILE ON UR FACE.

IF THIS SOLUTION SEEMS HELPFUL DONT FORGET RATING IT.

Originally a HotSync problem. Tried to uninstall software to reinstall. Uninstall won't work. Reinstall hangs on "updating registry"
