Optio 30 Focus Problem

Just want to let folks know again that the firmware upgrade to the Optio30 to correct the software problem must be installed BEFORE the focus problem occurs. After 3 cameras that locked up, I installed the software before I used the 4th and have had no problems with hundreds of pictures in all capture modes.

I have a similar problem in the same camera: all hardware is ok but it doesn't focus. I've taked out the focus motor and it works, and all the pieces works too, they're not damaged, in fact wth the motor out I can focus manualy the picture. So I think it could be a firmware problem, but the OLYMPUS software doesn't leave me to write the same version of firmware, and there's no new versions, so is there any way to rewrite the same version of fw????? any service program?

Is there a firmware upgrade available to allow SDHC cards to be used in the Optio 50?

No. There are hardware difference between the SD and SDHC specs that cannot be overcome by firmware changes. While SD cards will work in SDHC devices, there is nothing that can be done to make SDHC cards work in SD devices.

I know that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

According to the Pentax web site, there is no firmware update available for the 33LF camera. As far as your pics are concerned, you can use a card reader to download them to your computer. Then, you can format the card in the camera and everything should be ok.

Lens error

This is a firmware problem that happens with many of the new cameras. It will have to be upgraded. The manufacturer will repair it for $50. Otherwise you may get lucky enough to find the upgrade software on the internet

Connecting OPtio S4i to PC

After formatting my PC to upgrade it I've been unable to install the USB driver software to save pictures from my Tentax OPtio S4i to my PC.

My computer isn't recognising my camera when I plug it into the USB port.

When I've tried to install the Driver using the disk I got with my camera, at the stage where it asks me to MODIFY REPAIR or REMOVE, the software I get the following showing up on display boxes:

Installation and Usage Tips for the DiMAGE 7 Optional Enhancement Upgrade:

Taken from the DiMAGE 7 Upgrade Software Installation Pamphlet… Power Supply during Update: When performing the software update, please use a set of fully charged NI-MH (nickel hydrogen) batteries or the AC Adapter AC-1L or AC-2L (sold separately). When using the AC Adapter, be sure not to inadvertently disconnect the camera during the software updating procedure, otherwise the camera may be permanently damaged. Amendment to the DiMAGE 7 Upgrade Software manual… (Located on an insertion card within Upgrade Kit and Upgrade Firmware boxes) For Windows XP users: Do not copy the dsc.app and ram.bin files directly from the CD-ROM to the CF card or the upgrade will not be executed correctly. First copy these two files onto the computer’s hard drive or desktop, and then copy them into the CF card. After upgrading: When the camera is turned to the playback mode, the no-image message appears and the images taken before the upgrade are not displayed. These images were placed in a folder with names ending in MLT03, the upgraded camera places images in folders ending in MLT14, see CompactFlash card folder organization in the DiMAGE 7 manual. To view images taken before the upgrade, select the appropriate folder in the custom 1 section of the setup menu. Refer to DiMAGE 7 manual for a description of this function. When using autofocus with the wide focus frame, the live image may freeze for an instant as the AF system determines the focus. This is because autofocus speed is increased

256 Sandisk SD card problem with an Optio 33LF

Optio 33LF Firmware Upgrade Information & Instructions: This firmware corrects "camera freezing & cannot display images" issues with Sandisk & Black's 128MB & 256MB Secure Digital Cards. This problem is occurred because Sandisk changed the manufacturing location from the Philippine's to China during production of the Optio 33LF. They also change the electronic chip used the SD Card which caused a compatibility problems with Pentax, Minolta, Palm and other digital device manufacturers. In turn this also caused a problem with Black's SD Cards as they are manufactured by Sandisk. Therefore, we had to release a Firmware Upgrade for the Optio 33LF to correct compatibility issues with these SD Cards. HOW TO CHECK WHAT THE CURRENT FIRMWARE VERSION: Confirm the current firmware version by pushing and "HOLDING DOWN" the "Right Arrow & Right Zoom" button located at the back of the Optio 33LF. While continuing to hold the "Right Arrow & Right Zoom" button turn the POWER on the Optio 33LF. The current firmware version will be displayed on the LCD. If the firmware version reads "Current Version 01.01.05.04" then your cameras firmware is up to date. If you do not have the current version, then please refer to the information listed below. Please be sure to upgrade your camera. You can download the firmware from the following link. Please be sure to follow the instructions listed below.
