Hi, I've got proliant ml110 g4 server, itel

Hi, I've got proliant LM-110 g4 server, itel xeon 1.86Ghz 2core, 3GB RAM and I added graphic card Radeon hd 5450 to it pci slot. Unfortunately games which i wanted do play are extremely lagged (Borderland). I think my drivers are ok, but i've got other doubts; -is it just type of motherboard not dedicated for gaming, -i disabled integral graphic card, but only by windows xp, -the worst one, i've got this during turning on computer error message "expansion RoM not initialized PCI Network on Motherboard", i've read that new bios might help, but i can't find Bios for Windows xp on Hp pages, and i do not know how to updated anyway. Thanks for help , and sorry for my English. James.

You keep posting this.
why use any server to play games.
why not build a real DT with ASUS top MOBO.
why mess with this old rig?
why run XP the virus magnet and is Dead OS for 3 years
missing Service pack 3? that is hopeless too.
Vista too is DEAD> OS.
put in windows 7, if it can run at all , ask HP that. HP.com
ever heard of them?
and last (BAD NEWS HERE)
expansion RoM

your server class BIOS does not support , expanded external
video carD ROMs , like all real DESKTOPS do.
your card USES this spec, PC , PCI slots only.
PCI Express 2.1
the card use that spec, for voltage levels
and is dual level (low) card.
you system uses 3.3v and is not supported by that card. period.
ask HP what Express card levels it can use if any.
ask on the HP forum, (google HP forum, its not HERE)

An Oxymoron:
bios is NOT IN XP, ? BIOS is not OS. at all.
they do talk back and forth yes.
BIOS.
it's ROM on the the mother board, only, and on all highend'
video cards, (called expansion rom on the card is this ROM) this error can be the above, wrong card
and when reading the rom gets errors due to wrong signal levels used. (2.1 cards are wrong here)

you sound NOOB'sh, that's ok.. this stuff is easy.
Bios is just rom code, read only memory chip
you take out the HDD on aNY PC AND THE ROM WORKS
PERFECT IN ALL CASES.
With no MOBO rom , you cant boot, nor decide what to boot or order.

my guess is you fell in love with the word server or
the game you have has a published minimum system spec
did you read that first? it will be laggy on that level of system.

first G4 was 2004? what year is yours?
HP says it runs windows 7 , 64bit. not XP. ever.

Intel®Xeon®3000 series processor
3040 PROCESSOR, WITH 2 cores.
the slowest one made it seems,,, old it is.
slots
One PCI-E x8 slot

One PCI-E x4 line with x8 slot

Two 3.3V 32-bit/33-MHz PCI bus slots

only 3.3v video card work here if at all, BIOS may not.
no card stated by you, so no help .
what ever card you use must make the PCI bus happy
it most be compliant with that PCI buss chip, there.
that means only old card work there, period, real old.

tell more get more
id never attempt what you are doing
it's for a server, never a VIDEO game platform
what games in the future do you want to run?
that matters FIRST.

and last UPDATES
do not use XP, ever.
HP does not support older that 10 year old systems
for sure not XP, its a Dead OS now.
if MS cant support it how can HPnor is your video card maker support Dead XP !
use Windows 7, forget all older systems and have a chance at success.
there is no bios upgrade on old systems.
unless super lucky, I dont have your service tag so cant help much.

go to hp.com
enter your service tag number and read all these facts.

to make a PCI slot work (video card)
you just use the correct express# PCI
level card, matching the mother boards, PCI slot rules, one can not just guess.
    it must match.

In HP prolliant server sets, setup also logs system events. This error is due to that log. Enter setup, trace log and clear all events.

SOURCE: i need to download an hp proliant ml110 driver for window xp

HP does not support XP on their servers so you won't find appropriate drivers on their site under the ML110. The 110 is low end and in reality shares more in common with mid to high end PCs than othe servers though. Other than storage drivers you will probably be able to just let the XP install handle things.

For storage drivers you'll probably have to use the F6 option when installing and experiment until you find a driver that works. It's possible tha the Server 2003 driver will work but I wouldn't bet on it.

Hi,
Perform a RAM test to check every section of the memory. It might be hitting a bad sector when it loads the OS.

Is HP ML 110 server compatible with 64-bit Windows 2008 R2 server?

Hi there,
Yes it should be.. Well the main important part is that you have a 64Bit processor installed on it.
So just make sure your processor is 64Bit then it will run 2008

  2. Windows 2003
  3. NetWare 5.1

I need to install windows server 2003 (standard edition) on a HP Proliant ML110 G4 server but I do not have the easy setup CD (smart start CD) and it would not have me install directly from the OS...

here is the download link for the easy set up cd, this is for the ml110 g5, however it is backward compatible so it should work in the ml110 g4
